I currently live in a single room in a student hostel/dormitory/hall of residence (tick which appropriate to your local bastardisation of English). This room has a fundamental quality that makes it unique among any room in my hostel, or any hostel in Wellington, for that matter, and possibly in the whole of New Zealand. What is that quality? (It has nothing to do with the particular resident who lives there :P) | ||

is it a physical quality? something to do w dimensions/size/shape? its construction? covering of walls/floor/ceiling? decorations? furniture? other contents of the room? its location? its cost? something about the history of the room? is it the only single room? (there were none in mine) | ||

Is the quality of your room which gives it it's uniqueness immmediately apparent to a person who enters it? (I mean, if I walked in, would I say "Oh. I've never seen in a dorm room before."?) Is it at all apparent? Or is it something that you discovered only by living there? | ||

Is sound involved? Do you think it's haunted? (We had a classroom like that - the school was George Stephenson's (invented the Rocket) country home and he was said to haunt his old bedroom) | ||

is sight involved? something that a casual observer wouldn't notice, but someone who lives there would eventually discover? smell involved? touch involved? (secret wall panel, etc.?) taste involved? i doubt it, but just covering all tracks to avoid derailing the train of thought...  time period of the <event?> <insert LTPF list of DD/MM/YYYY> <person/action/etc?> timeframe relevant? was it a one-time occurrence, or was it spread out over a time period? minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade, ... ? If a person involved, identity relevant? does this "uniqueness" improve your stay there? hamper it? ... or is it simply a curiosity? | ||

********** OPTIMISTIC RECAP ********** This unique attribute is a physical quality which is not immediately apparent. It can be discovered primarily by the sense of sight. A casual observer wouldn't notice it but someone who lived there would yesishly discover it eventually. The room has a backstory which is practically irrelevant, but explains why the difference is there. I strongly suggest trying to work out what the quality is and avoiding the history of the room... for now. | ||
