Was the flower crushed because the jumper was packed? If so, for storage? Travel? Had someone trod upon it? Had you boarded a train in Japan where they squish people together so they'll all fit? So, a non-living, naturally-occuring thing with water in it...animal? Vegetable? Mineral? Is the main thing about the pin its sharpness (vs. magnetic qualities, rustability etc.)? |

No to these, but you're right to find out why the flower was crushed So, a non-living, naturally-occuring thing with water in it Yes, but slightly misleading. Hang on a minute - did I say it was naturally occuring? It certainly is not, apologies if I gave that impression. Entirely man-made, mineral(s)...animal? Vegetable? Mineral? Minerals--glass? Plastic? Metal? Something potentially perilously pervious to pins, presumably? Was the water-containing-thing-in-peril openable--that is, could liquid be removed or added without damaging it? Or was it sealed? To sort of mini-recap, you discovered a crushed flower which had formerly been pinned upon a jumper and you became worried that the pin from which it had been separated might prick a water-filled, man-made object? Were you wearing the jumper when you discovered the flower? Was someone else? Was it crushed by contact with another person? Had it become dislodged during the event in which it became crushed? Had the jumper been damaged at all during this scenario? |

By Tim A. Dowd (Bodo) on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - 08:12 pm: Minerals--glass? Plastic? Metal? Overall it's made of metal, glass, rubber and quite a few other bits I should think Something potentially perilously pervious to pins, presumably? The rubber Was the water-containing-thing-in-peril openable--that is, could liquid be removed or added without damaging it? Or was it sealed? It is openable when empty, but sealed when full - or it should be! To sort of mini-recap, you discovered a crushed flower which had formerly been pinned upon a jumper and you became worried that the pin from which it had been separated might prick a water-filled, man-made object? Yes, except the term 'water-filled' may be slightly misleading Were you wearing the jumper when you discovered the flower? Was someone else? NO to both - good questions Was it crushed by contact with another person? No Had it become dislodged during the event in which it became crushed? Ok, you had washed the jumper without taking the flower off, and then when you were hanging/folding/sorting the clothes post-wash you found the poor squooshed flower and realized you needed to find the pin before it damaged the seal on the washing machine (front-loading, presumably) or tore any other delicate fabrics or otherwise wreaked havoc? Was it (the flower) crushed during the wash (spin cycle)? By a mangle (don't think anyone even uses those anymore)? Pressed by a clothes press? |
