Another quick ditty from yours truly, inspired by a puzzle I saw here.

Plus, it's high time to throw in another puzzle with a Latin title in it just for the heck of it.

Enjoy!

Title: Ut sementem feceris ita metes

Difficulty: Easy

Type: Based on true story -- WARNING: This puzzle is NOT for the squeamish!

Story:
He thought to himself, The kitchen floor must be tasty indeed!

To Solve:
How did he come to that conclusion?

Specialized Knowledge needed:
None needed -- though you might want to hang on to a bag or something!

Good luck!

I guess I had better do the usual thing and translate the title, which is usually rendered "As you sow, so shall you reap." :)

Is he a human being? A real one? An adult? Is it his kitchen? Does it have an unusual floor?

I guess I had better do the usual thing and translate the title, which is usually rendered "As you sow, so shall you reap." :) Thanks, David. :) I can always count on Cicero for a good quote or two.

Is he a human being? Yes A real one? Yes An adult? Yes -- as a matter of fact, my uncle. Is it his kitchen? No Does it have an unusual floor? No

I guess I'll mention here that my uncle did not really think that thought in the puzzle statement -- hence the "based on" part. But the rest of the events to be chronicled in this puzzle did really happen.

Anything related to the kitchen floor being so clean you could eat off it? This idea has some relevance, yes, but probably not in the way you're thinking...

Edible plants? Meat? Processed products? Something else? It could have been bits and pieces of anything, really. I would pursue some other lines of inquiry if I were you.

If meat: animal? human? fish? mammal? bird?

If plant: exotic? grown on a farm? found in North America?

knowing what the edible stuff on the floor relevant? Not really, no, but it does contribute somewhat to the overall story

can it be served on a meal? served in restaurants?
is it meat? pork? beef? chicken? fish? vegetable? bread? rice? fruit?
is it processed? cooked?
is it expensive? one of a kind? All of these questions are kinda FA'ish. Recall that I said the stuff is edible for vvv (very vague values) of the term 'edible'!

did he actually taste it? No, but this is not far from the right forest!

Lzeiters

did he see someone chewing while sitting on the floor, and __________ was the only thing left that was vvv edible in the area, so he assumed it was edible? No, nothing like this, I'm afraid.

Tigger32382

was the someone else a person? Yes an animal? No -- assuming that you meant non-human animal, of course did they see the being eat it off the floor? No before it hit the floor? No

knowing what was eaten relevant? Yes, but not in the way you might think....

I'm sorry that my answers seem so vague right now, but there are standard questions that are usually asked in any lateral puzzle that quite surprisingly haven't been asked yet. Doing so will probably help resolve some of the confusion. :)
