Did He assume correctly what she had removed from her locker?

Was it:
Food?
Drink?
Litrature?
Makeup?
Clothes?

Did Tony assume that the books had been in the locker all week, and therefore Sarah had not practiced? Did he have some way of knowing that they had languished in the locker all week?

By the way, wouldn't Sarah have intended to arrive at her lesson with her books? In which case she would have planned to pick them up en route?

Was she trying to brush up on the "home work" / "prep" that she should have done previously?

By the way, wouldn't Sarah have intended to arrive at her lesson with her books? yes In which case she would have planned to pick them up en route? She did plan to pick them up en route. There is a crucial aspect of the situation that she did not plan, and on which there is more to be found out.

Had Tony previously rigged up Sarah's locker so as to make a particular sound the first time it was opened?

Was she expected to have taken the books home (elsewhere) to have done some work with them?

Did Tony note when she last had put her books in the locker?

Was the assumption that she had not done some work?
Or had been negligent in something?

Did Sarah accidentally knock over her locker, so that is why Tony "most certainly" heard what she was doing?

Did Sarah accidentally knock over her locker, so that is why Tony "most certainly" heard what she was doing? no - the noise she made was not especially loud, but her locker happened to be close enough to Tony's office that he heard what she was doing. And the locker was firmly enough attached to the wall that she could not easily knock it over :)

Did she have a miniature keyboard in her locker?

She did something in her locker to somehow mask the fact that she had not done her practice?

Did she do something to her fingers / fingernails?

(I think I'm getting confused - not surprisingly) She removed some sheet music didn't she? Was this the sheet music that she should have practiced from?

Did she have to remove the sheet music from sealed packaging, that Tony subsequently heard?

Did Tony dismiss her because he knew she hadn't done her practice?
Or for some other reason?

Had Tony been into her locker at any point?

I'm not quite sure what we are looking for, can you advise?

Is this correct - Tony heard Sarah open her locker and he rightly assumed that she took out her sheet music from which she should have practiced prior to the lesson?

Do we need to understand:
How he knew she took out the sheet music?
How he knew that obtaining her sheet music from the locker meant that she had not done her prep?
Something else?

Was the locker locked by a key? combination lock? is this relevant?

Was she given the sheet music recently? when she was given the lesson? or did she have the sheet music for a period of time already?

Was it just a pupil-teacher relationship between the two? or was there more?
