Considering the statement "He robbed them": - Was he human? Alive? A real person? A fictional character? Were they human? Alive? Real people? Fictional? Robbed in the usual sense of depriving someone(permanently?) of something? Something of monetary value? Robbed face to face? Stole from the property of them? Embezzled from them? |

oh, and while we're at it... Is the He who robbed them the same Him who was cheated? Is the He who won the same as the He who robbed? The same as the Him who was cheated? Were the Them who were robbed the same as the They who cheated? When He won, did he win in comparison to Them? |

So, he robbed them meaning he took something of theirs without their consent, correct? Without their knowlege? Was what he stole from them something he thought was valuabe at the time of the robbery? Something tangible, i.e. an object or objects? Was their cheating of him a method by which they got back what had been robbed from them? If so, was this a premeditated attempt to get back what was stolen? Or was the cheating a separate act of revenge for the robbery? Did they cheat him by offering something of no value when he was robbing them? extreme long shot ahead... Trading Places relevant? |

Before he robbed them, did they know they were about to be robbed? (more than a few seconds/minutes before) Did they know the robber before the robbery? Did he rob them of status? |

Is it relevant that they knew him? Were they colleagues? Friends? Was he able to rob them because they knew him? Could the phrase 'he robbed them' be replaced by 'he stole it from them'? Or 'he stole these things from them'? |

Is this something political? Do THEY know HIM personally? Does HE know THEM personally? (Does it even matter whether they know each other personally?) Win, as in elections? Or as in he got an "advantage"? Did the "he" having won meant a defeat for the "them"? Is there a contest? |
