Gotcha! Why, in the middle of an important event in the 2006 Uni games, did a member of the Victoria team stop play and propose marraige to the entire opposing team? |

The entire opposing team is female, whearas the Victoria team consists of both males and females, correct? Did this man think that his proposing would help his team win the game? Did his team win in the end? Was it rowing? soccer? cricket? rugby? volleyball? land-based? sea-based? Would it work if the entire opposing team was male, and it was a female Victoria team member who proposed? Stop play = he just stopped playing himself? or did he call for a time-out? Did he go up to each of the members and propose to them individually? Did the oposing team hear his marriage proposal? Did they see it? |

Was it obvious to all the Victoria team members that he was proposing? to all the opposing team members? to all the spectators? If so, did they find his behaviour strange? Or did they see it as perfectly natural? |

Victoria team: 2 males and 1 female? 2 females and 1 male? relevant? Did he use any props? eg flowers, ring etc. Did the entire Victoria team play the entire opposing team at the same time, in the same game, or was it a sport like table tennis or bowling, where each player takes on another individually? So if he hadn't proposed, Victoria wouldn't have won? Exact words he said relevant? did he just say, "Will you marry me?" Did the opposing team members laugh? Were they offended? Did they answer him? Did they say yes? no? something else? |

Solane Was the proposal An opener? yes JJ Did the motion have anything to do with polygamy? yeS ***** SPOILER ***** In the third round of the debating event at the 2006 NZ Uni games, Vic 3 were negating the moot 'That we should legalise polygamy' against Auckland 5. The third speaker on the Victoria team introduced his cost-benefit analysis by suggesting a world in which polygamy were readily practised. And yes, it was me. Thanks for playing. |
