Were the jury undecided on a verdict the outcome of the trialwhich could have been unfavourable for the man, and due to the nature of the crime it required a unanimous decision? Did she vote not guilty resulting in a hung jury? Which could be good or bad for him depending on the retrial, hence the yope? Is he glad that she smokes because had she not wanted a smoke break she might have stayed longer debating the verdict and they might have convinced her to vote guilty? | ||

YES!!!!! **** SPOILER ************ Alfred is glad Crystelle is a smoker because, after he was found guilkty, she said she wasn't able to take a smoke break during jury deliberations & so agreed to a guilty verduct because she was so desperate to get out of the jury room & have a smoke.
