John celebrated his birthday in Texas and then traveled several days nonstop because he didn't want to miss his twin brother's birthday. And he didn't. How come? |

You say he celebrated his birthday in Texas...was it actually his birthday when he celebrated it? Does "his birthday " mean "John's birthday"? |

Was his brother's birthday on the same day as his? Is it relevant what country he celebrated his brother's birthday in? What state? Is Texas the state in the USA? Could this take place elsewhere? In New Mexico? In Mexico? In Argentina? in the UK? in China? in Australia? on Mars? |

Was John's twin brother's birthday celebrated on the actual day of the year on which he was born? Does this involve some medical complication related to Obstetrics? |

The twins were born in the "regular" way? Left the vagina of a woman? Or only one of the twins? Are the circumstances of the birth relevant except the birth time? |

There can be a medical indication that one twin is removed from the mother's body earlier and the other one later. Is it something like that? Apart from the "several" days difference, are the twins the same age? Relevant to find out where the other twin lives? |

Something to do with the place of birth I believe. Was John's mother travelling when she gave birth to twins, I mean on a plane/ship etc.? Crossing of date line involved? I guess it is the only way when you can be born on same day and yet two different dates. |

Couple of people have almost solved it so its time for the spoiler. ******SPOILER************** There was a calendar change in September 1752. These twins were born either side of midnight between 2nd and 14th. So for rest of their life there is difference of 12 days between their birthdays. Not all the countries changed their calendar that time though USA did. There are lot of websites which articulate the calendar change. Here is how Sep 1752 calendar looked like
