Does she claim to have plagiarized a particular piece of work? or to be a plagiarist in general? if the first one: does the (alleged) original work actually exist? does the (alleged) plagiate actually exist? Does she claim to have plagiarized something? to plagiarize regularly? to intend to plagiarize something in the future? Does she claim to be a plagiarist before the (supposed) author of the original? in order to flatter him? Does she benefit in any way by claiming to be a plagiarist? if so: financially? income tax or wealth tax relevant? Is the type of work relevant? if so: literature? painting? music? engineering? science? |

Is the writing a book? novel? non-fiction? magazine? school paper? work paper? Does it matter who she gives credit to? Or is just important that she convinces her she didn't write it? |

Would this work if the other person did not know Adrianna? Do they know each other? well? In this case, is the position more important than who actually has got the position? or is it the combination of person and position? Due to the position of the other person, is she trying to find out if the other person: - lives what he/her preach - lives up to the responsibility and moral standards of the position - is as clever or stupid as the stereotype of that position - will advice her to turn herself in - will react up front or use the knowledge behind her back? - has changed since he/her got the position - is the correct person for the job? |

Wondering just what was behind the student health services' promise of confidentiality unless community welfare is endangered (or whatever--I'm not sure how they word it), she first protected herself by telling one of her professors she was going to go to a health services counselor & say she felt guilty about plagiarizing in that course & wanted help overcoming her gukit. Her motives could be either altruistic--to protect other students from psychiatric spies masquerdaing as helpers--or self-interested--to make her reputation as an investigative reporter--or (most likely) a mixture. By the way, when I mention this situation, almost everyone things it's obvious what the counselor would do--but some say it's obvious that the counselor would not tell & others say it's obvious that he would.l What I think is obvious is that if you want counseling, you should go to an independent counselor, rather than to a double agent hired by your school or employer. Suppose you went to a college counselor because you were having trouble "adjusting" to dorm life? How free would he be to suggest that the real problem was the university's expectation that you should be willing to share a small room with a stranger & a bnathroom with 20 strangers? Whatever your views on this, please check out my new puzzle at the bottom on the page!! |
