So her fence/wall has just been damaged? destroyed? by a drunk driver... you said no to a questiopn about pets and allergens, can we take it that no pets escaped during the making of this puzzle? so besides the usual businesss in this kinda situation (swapping insurance details , phoning the police etc etc) was she busy with an object? herself only? with Fred? with the car? with the fence? with the garden? with plants? trees? | ||

On May 16, in response to Enjay, you stated that Fred was physically hurt. Was he trapped in the car? under the rubble of the wall? Was he conscious when Ethel came outside? Is it relevant how hurt he was or just that he was physically hurt by the crash? If so, did he suffer a concussion? broken bones? Did they need to wait for an ambulance? Did he have to be checked out at the scene of the accident (which took a lot of time)? Did he have to go to the hospital? Did her dealing with the accident (once she heard the crash) take less than an hour? 1-2 hours, 3-4 hours? more? I am assuming that she is busy with these distractions, her rash disappears (and maybe she doesn't even think about it, what with everything going on), she goes inside and sees a glass of milk (which is probably very warm and probably spoiled), and she thinks, "I forgot to drink my milk," and then she realizes she doesn't have a rash which she has dealt with for a long time, and puts two and two together...." | ||

Indeed they do... ***************************SPOILER****************************** Ethel was minding her own business one morning when Fred, who'd been out on the town last night, drove his car into her wall. She rushed out, surveyed the damage, tended to Fred's wounds, waited for the ambulance...by which time she was very late for work. She rushed out, no time for her daily bowl of cornflakes (with milk), stopping only to grab a quick snack from the fridge. The next day she notices that that pesky skin condition she's had for a while is starting to clear up, puts two and two together and... Thanks to everyone who worked on this puzzle! |
