.. is a pub with no beer. Real life still provides the best of all lateral puzzles. So here we go with one. (You might have heard of this story, it was in the news.) A woman takes off her clothes. Two days later the local pub experiences a shortage of beer. |

Did her taking off her clothes prevent a delivery to the pub? Did she take off her clothes in public? In the company of one other person? 2? 3? Is it relevant how long she was naked for after taking off her clothes? Was she photographed without her clothes on? |

Wild guess.. Beer delivery driver is driving along on his route when through a window of a house he observes a lady undressing. Needless to say his eyes aren't on the road so he crashes destroying his cargo causing a short term shortage of beer in the locality. |

The beer driver crashes and destroys a truck load of beer. But the reasons for the crash are completely different. |

Is it relevant that after she had taken her clothes off she was naked? Did she wash her clothes? destroy them? Could she have achieved the same effect by taking a spare set of clothes out of her wardrobe and placing them where she placed her clothes in the actual story? Just to clarify - was she alone when she took her clothes off? |

did a person in another car see the woman take off her clothes and crash? and the beer truck crashed into this car? is she inside? in her house? is she outside? in her yard? on the roof? was she sunbathing? doing a striptease? had she done a load of laundry, put them to dry on a line outside and changed into new clothes in her yard? I don't know if anyone asked, but is the woman a human? adult? female? is it a live woman or a woman in a picture (if picture--magazine? cell phone? television? dvd player?) and if picture, was a driver looking at woman on any of these? |

did she mean to take the underwear out of her house? Yope. ("take" is perhaps not the right word) was the underwear in anything? Yes. mixed up with anything? Yes. apart from the driver and the woman is there 1 other person involved? 2? 3? 4? 5? Nobody else was involved in the events that led to the crash. Several people were involved in cleaning up the road after the crash (but this is not really relevant for the puzzle). |

That's worth a ... SPOILER A woman takes off her clothes. Two days later the local pub experiences a shortage of beer. The woman undressed to take a shower, and for reasons that will perhaps remain a secret to all sensible people, she flushed her underwear down the toilet. The lingerie went the way designed for this case and eventually clogged a sewage pipe some yards away from the house, just under the main road of the village. Heavy rain the other day led the pipe to bursting and the water washed away the ground under the road. And the road, now lacking support from beneath, finally collapsed under the weight of the beer truck. 12 days for this puzzle .. that's a quickie! Thanks for bringing it to the deserved end. |
