was john arriving at some social gathering? concert? religious? was it a liesure arrival or work related? Did john have friends where he arrived? Would John have asked another peer what the proper attire was? can the proper attire/apparel be classified as clothing? Could he have fit in by removing something he was wearing or did he need to add an item? or both? |

Are we looking for the name or type of the event that could be misinterpreted? mostly the name--he misunderstood part of the name of the event (one word in particular). Because of this, he misunderstood for whom the event was. He knew what type of event it was. was everyone else wearing pretty much the same thing? yes--the thing that they wear distinguishes them from John was what they were wearing made out of a fabric? rubber? leather? some sort of plastic?this |

the posting said "football"..He thought it was U.S. football.. but it was soccer? YES, exactly! did he arrive with a helmet?yes--and shoulder pads, american football cleats, etc. and that is a *************SPOILER******** Let's pretend John lives in Adamsville, a fictional town in the US. He sees a sign which reads, "Adamsville Football Club, tryouts Monday. Wear full gear and be ready to play." John arrives and is wearing his helmet, shoulder pads, and cleats...it is when the others show up wearing shinguards that he realizes that the sign meant soccer, not american football. good job to sixtyeight for spoiling, and to all for participating! hope all enjoyed this, my very first lateral puzzle to host! |
