Revenge... had the owners of the car ever played a trick on Nasty? Cheated him? Beat him at something? Had a car that had better gas mileage? Was the fact that the owners of the car saved money Nasty's nasty act? Were the owners of the car bragging that they did not need that much gas to get to a certain location, and Nasty knew otherwise, but he complied, and gave them only the amount of gas (or quality of gas?) they asked for, which, being low, saved them money, but it was nasty because he knew they would be stranded? |

The car owners were boasting that their muscle car drank up a tank real quick because of its awesome power. Our protaganist decides to teach them a lesson. (I'm guessing he's a petrol pump assistant or had access to their tank) So he pours in some lubricant in along with the fuel. This in effect improved the mileage of the car, saving the car owners some money (on fuel). But it meant that their car didn't really drink up fuel that fast, putting them in their place. Nasty! Is this anywhere close? |

Ok, the good part was the mileage. The bad part: Increased rpm? (I think new cars aren't supposed to be revved too high) Since the car would go longer without needing a refill, wouldn't it also be running for a long time? Would the warranty run out if the car had run more than a certain number of miles? or had been revved / sped too much? I'm just shooting randomly here hoping to find a lost arrow :-( |

ok, just joining in, so I apologize for any duplicated questions: here are some statements/answers that seem to contradict one another and just wanted to get it cleared up...just a little confused about what the people are boasting about: "Were the owners of the car bragging about gas mileage? YES! does it (oil) make the engine run better?YES! can you get more gas miles out of it?YES! Were they boasting about how fast their car went through a tank of gas because it was so powerful?YES!" (sorry, don't know how to do quote function) The above questions/answers seem to contradict in my mind mainly because if you have good gas mileage, then you go through gas more slowly. So are the people boasting that their car has great gas mileage or are they boasting that they have a powerful car that really eats up the gas? regarding the "oil": was it possibly a fuel enhancer like stp? I remember my father in law had me pour some in one time when my car needed some gas. I poured it in and then filled the car with gas. It was supposed to do something like clean the fuel injectors. Was it something like this? or could it maybe be a fuel enhancer that one would use maybe for race cars (if there is such a thing)? regarding the warranty: did Nasty do something which ended up voiding the other person's warranty? regarding the title oil spill: is anything (other than the word oil) relevant about the title? did some of the oil spill near the car/under the car? if so, did the people take the car in for a check to see if anything was the matter and they found another problem which was fixed free of charge because the car was still under warranty? by the way, was the car still under warranty? |

Could the car have been covered by a warranty if the car had eaten up too much gas by a certain amount of time, but because Nasty put the helpful lubricant in their tank, their car no longer looked like it ate gas, so they could not get some sort of refund? Was the money they saved only the money they would have spent on more gas? Did they also LOSE money, because they couldn't get something covered by the warranty? |

Booklover: I think he meant they were 'boasting' about how bad their gas mileage was. When it comes to powerful cars, it becomes a bit of a discussion point as to how low the fuel economy is. Talk about eco-friendly ;-) |

They've already found everything they need about the oil, that it makes the car run better regarding the warranty: did Nasty do something which ended up voiding the other person's warranty? No regarding the title oil spill: is anything (other than the word oil) relevant about the title?Nope did some of the oil spill near the car/under the car?No if so, did the people take the car in for a check to see if anything was the matter and they found another problem which was fixed free of charge because the car was still under warranty?Nope by the way, was the car still under warranty?YOPE! That's the key! Could the car have been covered by a warranty if the car had eaten up too much gas by a certain amount of time, but because Nasty put the helpful lubricant in their tank, their car no longer looked like it ate gas, so they could not get some sort of refund? No Was the money they saved only the money they would have spent on more gas?Yes Did they also LOSE money, because they couldn't get something covered by the warranty? No, not in the course of this story |

so Nasty put the oil in knowing their warranty was up..? but if the oil didn't damage the car I don't quite see what he was trying to accomplish at the moment.. did he deliberately wait until their warranty was up? did he tell them he put the oil in at any point? did he just want to make them think he had ruined their car? or did he want to make them think something was happening with their car right after their warranty was up? |

so Nasty put the oil in knowing their warranty was up..? Only at the end but if the oil didn't damage the car I don't quite see what he was trying to accomplish at the moment..Look below did he deliberately wait until their warranty was up?Yes did he tell them he put the oil in at any point? No did he just want to make them think he had ruined their car?No or did he want to make them think something was happening with their car right after their warranty was up?YES! I think that might qualify for a.... *******SPOILER******** Mr. Nasty's neighbors were bragging about their new car's mileage. Nasty got annoyed, and started putting a better oil in their car, making them burn less. His neighbors started bragging more, and he knew it was going to work because he knew the warranty date of the car. Right after it was up, Nasty STOPPED putting oil in, thereby making the mileage drop just when the company wouldn't fix anything for free! He never did let out the truth though... |
