So this fellow comes to my door--I had called him up--and even though I knew better I couldn't help expecting him to look more like a fish. Why do you suppose that would be? Silliness level about Bodo-standard (higher than normal people); early $poilers please email etc. |

Were you gutted when he didn't turn out to be a fish? :-) Would being a fish have been useful for doing what he came to do? Did you have problems with your plumbing?? |

Had you read something that made you think that way? Had he come to do a repair job? Had he advertised - is that how you knew of him? Or was he a good friend anyway? Chuck's not turned into a cod has he? Was he in the computer business? |

In the phone book. Or was he a good friend anyway? No. Chuck's not turned into a cod has he? No - he was just out here a couple of weeks back and he came over with his family for a visit (his mother lives in Cupertino also). Was he in the computer business? No. |

You said repair was closest, but not a repair job. Did he come to repair a situation? Did he come to your home? Your place of work? Was it an inside job? External job? |

Which room? Living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, attic, garage? Anything to do with computers? TVs Music systems? (Do people still have music 'systems' or do they just sit around like us with headphones, iPods and laptops?) |

Tosh Posted on Thursday, August 09, 2007 - 9:38 pm: Which room? Living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, attic, garage? In my house it's the living room, but that's not the only place something like this could be done - it is probably the most likely for most homes. Anything to do with computers? TVs Music systems? No to these. (Do people still have music 'systems' or do they just sit around like us with headphones, iPods and laptops?) I have no idea - I've still got my system from the '80s, and I don't have an iPod or any other MP3 player (unless my phone does that too - I just got it to make phone calls). |

Tosh Posted on Thursday, August 09, 2007 - 10:33 pm: Thankee kindly. Youse welcome. Too many nos, though, methinks. Gots to answer accurate-like, doesn't I? Did he deliver something? No. Is it something that is really modern? No. Traditional? Antique? Hard to answer - I suppose traditional works, although I think the origins would be around 1700. |
