I JUST read the user's guide. ******************SPOILER!******************* The man is indeed a fire-walker. To walk on fire without burning himself, he has to relax so his circulation isn't impaired and his blood flow can help cool his feet; he has to walk quickly to avoid prolonged exposure. People used to avoid writing "spoiler" in puzzles before they were solved, lest they be whisked off by the moderators to the Recently Solved Puzzles section prematurely. But since I look at each puzzle on the board to make sure it really has been solved before I move it, there is less need to worry about this now.
