I really hope that my boss's mother decides not to visit, or at least puts it off, even though I like my boss and she can't wait to see her mom. Why? |

Do you know this woman in any capacity other than as your boss's mother? Are you related to your boss? Do you expect the mother to disapprove of some aspect of your work? Do you actually like your boss's mother? Has your boss's mother met you before? |

Would the visit of your boss's mother affect the amount of work you have to do? Would you be expected to cover for her at some event that you would rather avoid? Type of work relevant? |

If your bosses mother visits, will this affect your boss's behaviour in some way which will be detrimental to you? Will it affect your boss' mood? the amount of time she spends at work? |

So your boss's mother is coming to visit, which will affect the time your boss spends in work. This will in turn put extra work on you...so now we have to work out why you don't want the extra work at this time right? Are there any other people involved (besides you, your boss, and her mother? any animals involved? |

So is there something else as well... not just the extra work but...or is it not so much extra work as such but rather a case of having to work different shifts to what you would normally work? |

So you're in charge, but not in charge... you're not working different shifts to usual... Is it to do with opening up or closing down the office/workplace? Or working your day off? Would the visit if it goes ahead conflict with plans of yours? |

So you would have to work later? Do a double shift? Change your day off? Not take a day off when you need to? Is it relevant what your plans were? Does family reunion only apply to your boss, or Is there a hint in there about your plans as well? |

Would celebration be more accurate?yes Anniversary of some kind? Get together? Birfday?yes Is there a specific date involved?yes This is enough I think! SPOILER!!!!!!!!!! My birthday is coming up next Thursday, and I have requested Friday off so that I may celebrate Thursday night without having to worry about getting up the next morning. However, my boss's mom is coming into town sometime in the next couple of weeks, and my boss will not approve my time off request until she knows when SHE will need time off to see her mom. Since one of our managers just quit this month, we can't have more than one of us out on the same day. So, I really hope that her mom waits until after my birthday to come to town! |
