I often find myself making a comment pointing out the quite obvious fact that two particular dissimilar entities are not, in fact, the same. Why would I do this so often?

inspired by Beccaann's puzzle...normally I give these away and then have to wait ages, but I held myself back this time...Enjoy!

You have to point out that two national teams aren't one and the same... I'm sure I should be able to get this now, but I can't figure it out, so let's go for the traditional LTPF method...

Is the South American team Argentina? Brazil? Chile? Ecuador? Bolivia? British Guyana? Dutch Guyana? Colombia? Peru? Paraguay? Uruguay? French Guyana? (I think that's all of them...)

Is the European team England? Ireland? Northern Ireland? Wales? Scotland? Spain? France? Italy? Germany? Sweden? Denmark? Norway? Switzerland? Eastern Europe? Western Europe?

Are the team kits relevant? Brazil's and Sweden's are similar-ish.

Are people ever actually in danger of confusing the Northern Ireland and Brazil football teams?
Might you similarly have felt the need to point out that Northern Ireland were not, say, The Netherlands had you been making this comment in the early 70s?

Oh - I've heard Sheffield Wednesday fans sing "we're not Brazil, we're Sheffield Wednesday..." (to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic). Have they pinched this song off you? (Or vice versa?)

I think you just beat Obaone to it....

************Spoiler**************
One of the more recent chants to be heard at Northern Ireland matches...

To the battle hymn of the Republic.

http://www.irishleagueforums.net/Not_Brazi...ern_Ireland.mp3

We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland

Mine eyes have seen the glory of Espana "82
When little Northern Ireland Showed the world what we can do
Now Lawrie is our leader and we're coming after you
And this is what we sing.........
(what do we sing?)

We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
(Ulster)

We've beat the Turks, the I'ties and the mighty Germans too
The French, The Dutch, our Southern friends all know what we can do
and if you know your history, you'll know it could be you
and this is what we sing....
(what do we sing?)

We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
(Ulster)

Oh I was only little when my father said to me
C'mon we'll go to Windsor to cheer the boys in emerald green
The greatest little country that the world has ever seen
and this is what he said.....
(what did he say?)

We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
(Ulster)

The English boys came over in the year two thousand and five
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang.....
(what did we sing?)

We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
We're not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland
But it's all the same to me
