Did they add a 'touch' to something they did before? Did they add the touch to make the world a safer place? Does safer mean that less people get killed? Hurt? They=ham? |

Safer as in Less accidents? less likelyhood of nuclear war? Less likelyhood of getting wiped out by an act of God? (Poor God - blamed for everything!) |

Just to prove my ignorance (or not, I really do not know) is it Rugby Union or Rugby League? This might be what Enjay just asked, but I do not recognise the terms he used. |

So they changed a rule of rugby which now prevents accidents.. in the scrum? in the lineout? In rucks? mauls? Did they make someone touch the ball? touch someone else? Is "touch" in the sense of kicking the ball into touch relevant? |

The referee shouts touch... is that it? pretty much so i'll spoil. Ws hoping the puzzle statement would sow some confusion but you clever people cut through it in no time. ********************SPOILER****************** The world Rugby Union governing body the IRB recently introduced a change in the scrummaging rule . The rule centres around the referees instructions to the oppposing packs. Formerly the instructions were Crouch Hold Engage but to reduce the force of the engagement the IRB inserted the instruction touch which means the opposing prop forwards much reach out and touch their opposite number. I believe the rational is that it improves the timing of the initial contact and thus reduces the risk of serious neck injury . The ref now instructs Crouch Hold Touch Engage. So they added a touch to make the game safer. Personally i haven't noticed any decrease in the force of the initial impact. Well done Tom (revenge for the US presidents) |
