******** SPOILER ************ A woman walked into a bar and asked for a glass of water. The barman pulled a gun on her. The woman had hiccoughs. In the traditional version of this story, the woman thanks the barman and leaves. In this version all the mayhem that one might expect from a barman pulling a gun on someone arises, resulting specifically in the barman being dead (and therefore losing his job :-)). Perhaps it would have been easier if he'd resorted to an alternative cure for hiccoughs which was suggested to me recently, and just kissed her. |
