After being subjected to a very irritating half-hour, Caralise used her unusual hobby to get an unusual type of revenge. How come? |

Was the irritation she was subjected to in any way related to the hobby? Was she subjected by someone she knew? By more than one person? Was it irritating because of something that was being said? Something that was being done to her? Was she being physically touched in any way? Did she get revenge on a single person? a group of people? a stranger? a friend? a colleague? a fellow hobbyist? a relative? I assume it's relevant what her hobby is this time? Does it involve making things? doing any physical activity? Is it expensive? can you do this hobby at home? does it need any special equipment? Does anyone do it professionally? Does she get her revenge immediately after the half hour? within an hour? within five hours? within a day? a week? a month? a year? two years? |

Did her revenge involve physically harming her irritators? Causing them emotional distress? tricking them in any way? After she got her revenge, would they be aware that she had got her revenge? Is there any sense in which the revenge is ironic given the way in which she was irritated? The equipment the hobby requires... a ball? a bat? string? rope? any special clothing? Is it likely I own this piece of equipment? Might one perform this hobby on stage? Whilst being irritated, was she in the same room as her irritators? Did she have some connection with them? Some business connection? Was she on a train? bus? plane? in a restaurant? hospital? yope to something that was being said... was something being shouted? sung? whispered? Were they making any relevant noise? |

Does her hobby involve collecting? Collection of something live? dead? animal? vegetable? mineral? paper? manmade? natural? Does her hobby involve exploration? Arts and crafts involved? The irritation - were people asking annoying questions? Poking holes in a theory of hers? Was a lecture involved? One where nobody but her understood the subject? |

At some group of which she is a member? Does her hobby involve reading? watching TV? watching DVDs? videos? Is it an online hobby? Would it be possible to do this hobby on a desert island? Does it involve interacting with other people? The necessary equipment - do you wear it? hold it in your hands? Does it have any power source? a battery? mains? |

Is the necessary equipment just a PC? Is the hobby doing lateral puzzles? Can the hobby be done without a PC connected to the internet? Does the hobby involve writing? posting things on some internet forum? on a website? blog? Did some version of this hobby exist 50 years ago? |

Is this a true story? Is Caralise actually Felicia Nimue Ackerman? Did Caralise run a puzzle about her irritators? Were they also members of the same lateral puzzles forum? Did she write anything about them on a lateral puzzles forum? |

It was a liberal group so they were preaching to the choir. I share the exciting, original view that Bush is a jerk, but that doesn't mean I want to hear mediocre voices sing clumsy lyrics. When I complained to the organization, I was told that one of the board members was also a member of that singing group so when she asked that her group be given a chance to perform, the board agreed. I replied that while proud parents might be willing to sit through the inept performances of grade schoolers, such ineptness should not be inflicted on a captive audience at a benefit dinner. Posting this puzzle is my revenge--although I'm not feeling vindictive enough to post the name of the group. |
