This may not be an according to hoyle lateral puzzle but here goes This is a game we used to play (usually in the pub) called connections. The setter gives three clues to objects, places, people etc. that have a connection. Your mission is to identify them and provide the connection. So here it is. BTW this is one of the harder ones A group of villians , a 20 euro bill & a rather fortunate fellow. |

Is it "villian" according to the following definition: To be notorious for being better than everyone. to always be in the top to of something they have accomplished? Did the fortunate fellow win anything? the 20 euro bill? Did there happen anything involving the villians the bill and the fellow? if yes is the place where this happened relevant? Are there more objects? or people involved? Are any occupations relevant? relations between the persons? Would this work with coins instead of a bill? with a cheque? a piece of paper? |

Be delighted to . This puzzle is based on a game my friends and i occasionally play called connections. The idea is that the setter gives clues to the names of or a possible description of 3 people, places, animals, objects etc. which have a link. The object is to identify the 3 items and provide the link. To give you an easy example A store of weapons, a flower show & a horse race. Answers could be Arsenal, Chelsea and Derby which are all english football teams. In this puzzle we have ascertained that the group of villians is the wrecking crew ? the rather fortunate fellow is a horse with a two word name the first of which is Lucky and the second is a mans name. As for the 20 euro bill we have established that the fact that it's blue is relevant but any symbols or design on the bill are not relevant? Hope this helps and precipitates a flood of questions |

Wrecking Crew, Blue Note and Lucky Dan are the three racehorses involved in the confidence trick played upon Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw) by Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman) and Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) in George Roy Hill's 1973 film The Sting. I won't say any more, in case people haven't seen the film, which I would strongly recommend that they do. |

**************Spoiler*************** Woubit has summed that up nicely. My friends and I are very interested in movie history and trivia so this puzzle was great fun to solve. It took us ages by the way. And couldn't agree more that anyone who has not seen the movie should do so. The Sting is definately in my all time top 3 movies. Paul Newman was never better. The poker scene on the train between Newman & Shaw is probably my favourite movie clip of all time and Newmans pretend drunken first line in the scene is in my opinion the funniest one liner on film |
