Hello I'm new here. This might be quick, but I don't know. There were two, but I could only measure one of them |

If you try to find the other thing, are you putting yourself in danger? Do you know where the other thing is? Are both things the same size? Or are they similar in size? |

Were these two things essentially the same sort of thing? Were these things physical? Conceptual? If physical: composed of animal, vegetable or mineral? Do they exist now? Relevant? The measurement you mention: height, length? breadth? width? depth? speed? temperature? quality? consistency? Something specialist scale like measuring earthquakes on the richter scale? |

If Lynne isn't correct, are we looking at some scale of measurement that is specialist like her idea? Does it seem that we have misunderstood your use of "measure"? Or do we simply need to discover the type of measurement? Are the two things living? Parts of something living? Are they human? |

Is an ability of one of the two being measured? Would the measurement be the same for both of them? Does it involve volume? Area? If not human, are they: Mammal? Bird? Fish? Reptile? Amphibian? Insect/Bug? Microscopic? |

Is whether they are dead or alive what is baing measured? Schrödinger's cat? YES Well Done. SPOILER I knew it'd be quick. The story of Schrödinger's cat. The measurment problem. I can only measure 1 of the two possibilities (A dead or alive cat), so when I do not look the cat is both dead and alive. Until I measure (look at) the cat it becomes one definate state. |
