Alelia's interest in education causes her to be interested in a peculiar matter that interests almost no one else & is unrelated to the subject matter of her education. How come?? |

When you say "almost no one else" does that mean that there is at least one other person that she would know that would be interested in or related to this matter? Is this something that would come up due to her experiences in some sort of educational facility (university, online course, etc)? When you say "interests almost no one else" do you mean that it interests very few people she knows or very few people in her country (or planet)? If someone else were to find out about Alelia's interest, is it likely that they would find it silly? Unbecoming? Understandable? Evil? Oh, and is Alelia's name important? |

By "interest in education", do you mean that Alelia is interested: in learning? in teaching? in forms of education? (e.g private/public schooling, "democratic schools", homeschooling, etc.) something else? Does her interest in education lead her to visiting some place? some internet website? reading some book? that causes her interest in this peculiar matter? Can the "peculiar matter" in question be regarded as an issue of: - Philosophy? - Politics? - History? - Prediction of future events? - Analysis of current events? - Sociology? - Economics? - Geographical knowledge? - Astronomy? - Religion/mysticism? - The paranormal? - The origins of the universe? - Media by which we express ourselves? (e.g. books, newspapers, internet, film...) - Something else entirely? |

So her actual education doesn't matter, just the fact that she is interested in educated? Is the "peculiar matter" something that exists on the earth? Is it related to geographical knowledge? Is it related to guessing something? Gambling? Playing some sort of game of chance? Is it something that she does/is involved with for her entertainment? Does she gain some sort of knowledge that she values out of it? Is there anything else about Alelia as a person that we need to know? About her background? About her current location? |

Could someone else, who had no knowledge of Alelia, be interested in the same peculiar matter? Or must one know Alelia to have any knowledge of that matter? Is the peculiar matter something physical? Is Alelia; a student? a teacher? employed within education? Oh, and H? A? F? Do any of her friends know of her interest in this matter? How does she satisfy her curiosity in the peculiar matter - through reading? direct observation? interrogating others? introspection? watching TV? listening to radio? This question is a little off-track for the puzzle, but I'd love some adviceBy not eating anything that tasted good for 13 out of 14 days & then, one day every 2 weeks or so, cutting loose & eating whatever I wanted (e.g., 20 desserts). This is also how I have been maintaining the loss. It always gives me something to look forward to & it keeps me from feeling disgustingly wholesome. All things considered, I had more fun when I was fat (I LOVE cake, cookies, & candy), but I think that the quality of life is much less important than the quantity. |

I think you mentioned fairly often that you're writing columns? is this relevant? are the columns about education-related topics? are they always for the same journal? for an education-related journal? Relevant that you have to "fill" a given space with your column? so you cannot write as much as you may find appropriate for the topic but have to fit the text as good as possible to the size of the column? |

So your interest has to do with writing a regular column for the Providence RI paper? Or arose from writing said column? Have you always been interested in this topic? Was there a specific trigger that made you interested, and if so, is it relevant? Does it have to do with a person or people? A place or places? A thing or things? Is the topic of interest something intangible? |

Is the fact that it's a monthly column relevant? Is it published on a particular date each month (1st of the month, say)? A particular day (First Monday of the month)? Does the thing that occurs monthly have to do with your column? Education? Anything to do with the waiting period between turning it in and having it published? Is a specific date relevant? Anything to do with regular occurrences associated with the calendar -- like how the calendar repeats itself every 28 years, or how there is ALWAYS at least one Friday the 13th in a year and never more than three, or how Leap Days are occasionally dropped? |

(from that point of view the June would be a perfect month this year ..) yes ***SPOILER ************* Are any of you interested in what date the last Tuesday of the month falls on? You would be if you wrote a monthly column that was due on the previous Wednesday. A perfect month has 31 days, the last of which is a Tuesday. A crummy month ends on a Monday, and a February that ends on a Monday should not even be allowed to exist. Thanks for sticking with it, everyone, & for solving it, Sundowner, & please direct your needle-sharp minds to my new puzzle at the bottom of the page. |
