Hi, Smartyllama. Was he performing well in the area that the competition was judging (I.e., was he juggling in the juggling contest, not eating pies?)? Was the competition trying to find the best performer in some area? Was it trying to find the worst? Is acting involved? |

Did he think he might win with his good performance? Did he think he would lose? Did everyone else perform poorly? Did the winner perform poorly? Was he disqualified? If so, for cheating in any way? Is it relevant how the competition was being judged? Or by whom? |

Did he think he might win with his good performance? Depends. The competition he lost he expected to lose if he performed well. But he wasn't performing well in that contest. Did he think he would lose? <b> see previous answer </> Did everyone else perform poorly? In which competition? Did the winner perform poorly? I assume you are referring to the winner of the competition he lost. If so, no, but check your assumptions Was he disqualified? no If so, for cheating in any way? see above Is it relevant how the competition was being judged? Or by whom? |

Is this a sort of last comes first type competition? e.g. a slow bike race? Btw Welcome to the forum. You are our second Llama as we've already had an Unleashedllama as a member. |

Is this a sort of last comes first type competition? e.g. a slow bike race? no, neither contest was. Remember, there were two contests; the one he performed well in and the one he lost as a result. Was he performing well in a performance whose goal was to get the highest score but the competition was something like golf, where you need the lowest score to win? |

In either competition did he outperform some handicapping system? Was it apparent to the judges that he was competing at a level much to low for him? Were these competitions sporting in nature? |

Is he himself is a professional football player? But his fantasy football team consisted of players in his opponent's team? So by doing well, his fantasy football team does poorly? |

Is he himself is a professional football player? But his fantasy football team consisted of players in his opponent's team? So by doing well, his fantasy football team does poorly? Close Enough. *****SPOILER**** As reported by Sports Illustrated, this actually happened to Washington Redskins Tight End Chris Cooley a couple years ago. Cooley had a career day on the field, but was owned by his opponent in his fantasy football league. So he lost the fantasy football matchup. |
