Bolapara loves to give out advice to those who truly aspire to improve or live their live correctly. I can help guide you from minor decisions like who to marry to huge decisions like should you eat that last french fry at mcdonalds. *For those of you who have no clue what rulebreakers are, as I originally didn't, you ask questions, and then try to determine what rule I am using to give out my answers. To help determine the rule, ask a question that I can give you advice on. If you are asking if something is the rule, please post in italics so I don't mistake it is a rule. Thanks |

Well, SHOULD we eat that last fry at McDonalds? What should I name my first baby? Why are men so odd? If Hillary Clinton wins the next election, how many teeth does a canary have? Should Arek Fu give up? Should I give up? Do you like rulebreakers? Hi! Maybe if I ask a question without a question mark at the end I'll get a different answer, right. |

So far, "Should Johnny brush his teeth?" is answerable for Absinthe (in a seemingly negative way once, and in a positive way twice), but unanswerable for Arek_fu, Kalira, Eliott85, and Hietek... I'd like to ask the Wiseman if it is possible to solve this puzzle with only information found on this page, or whether advise seekers should take a trip to their profile pages or some other page for illumination. Apologize in advance for the length of this post... I remain convinced I am horrible at Rulebreakers, so I must go for the heavyhanded approach. Should Johnny brush his teeth? Should Johnny brush his apple? Should Johnny brush his bald spot? Should Johnny brush his canines? Should Johnny brush his dreadlocks? Should Johnny brush his enamel? Should Johnny brush his ficus? Okay, sledgehammer approach for the epic fail! Told you I wasn't good at these :-) Next thought: if it isn't to do with the (non)positiveness of the wiseman's response, maybe there is something that determines how many words long his response is... (This does not require a response -- just thinking out loud for the benefit of anyone who might be thinking of joining in the advice-y fun.) Do you know the way to San Jose? What would you do if I sang out of tune? All the lonely people: where do they all belong? Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? Why do they always send the poor? Would you be the wind to blow me home? If you call my name out loud, do you suppose that I would come running? What shall we do with a drunken sailor early in the morning? Wouldn't it be great if no one ever got offended? Be you angels? What is this feeling, so sudden and new? Who wants to live forever? Can anybody find me somebody to love? Easy come, easy go, will you let me go? Have you ever walked through a room but it was more like the room passed around you like there was some leash around your neck that pulled you through? Where are all the stupid people from? And how'd they get to be so dumb? And thus extinguishes my current memory of questions from lyrics... That was harder than I thought. |

Do you know the way to San Jose? That is not a question worthy of my time What would you do if I sang out of tune? That is not a question worthy of my time All the lonely people: where do they all belong? Bolapara answers, "in here," but that falls asleep, wakes up, and mutters, "or maybe they belong over there." Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? That is not a question worthy of my time Why do they always send the poor? That is not a question worthy of my time Would you be the wind to blow me home? That is not a question worthy of my time If you call my name out loud, do you suppose that I would come running? The wiseman reviews your past and answers, "I suppose you would." Is it live or is it Memorex? Where's the beef? Should the quick brown fox jump over the lazy dog? Should you stay or should you go? Do I know what a rhetorical question is! What is another name for the cougar or mountain lion that begins with "Pu-"? The floor on a ship, it's what the swabby swabs. Should I iron my clothes? How often should I eat? What should my major in college be? A trolley is running out of control down a track. In its path are 5 people who have been tied to the track. Fortunately, I can flip a switch, which will lead the trolley down a different track to safety. Unfortunately, there is a single person tied to that track. Should I flip the switch? |

Just to be sure: Was "hat is not a question worthy of my time" [a] a blunder [b] a clue? If the above question was not one that could be answered by the wise man, might he answer this question? Is the fact that the wise man does not seem to know that "neither" and "none" are singular subjects, and thus do not take plural verbs, of any use? |

According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary,
quote:Some commentators insist that neither must be used with a singular verb. It generally is, but especially when a prepositional phrase intervenes between it and the verb, a plural verb is quite common <neither of those ideal solutions are in sight C. P. Snow>.
Wiktionary says this about "none":
quote:Although uncountable nouns require none to be conjugated with a singular verb, e.g., None of the team plays well., the pronoun can be either singular or plural in most other cases, e.g., Fifty people applied for the position, but none were accepted., and None was qualified. However, where the given or implied context is clearly singular or plural, then a matching verb makes better sense: None of these men is my father. None of those options is the best one. None of these people are my parents.

Was "hat is not a question worthy of my time" [a] a blunder [b] a clue? After pondering for ten years and seeing you still waiting for an answer, the wiseman answers, "typo." If the above question was not one that could be answered by the wise man, might he answer this question? "Yes, the wiseman might answer." Is the fact that the wise man does not seem to know that "neither" and "none" are singular subjects, and thus do not take plural verbs, of any use? After finishing his slice of three day old pizza, he answers, "Doctapeppa stole my intellectual knowledge." remember the words themselves are irrelevent. I could answer in the lost language of Atlantis (and maybe I should.....) What you are looking for is how and when I answer. |

hat? That is not a question worthy of my time Is this question worthy? The wiseman thinks, "it is," but then thinks "but maybe it is not." Is this question worthy of your time? "No way," the wiseman shouts, "nothing is worthy of time." Worthy of your time is this question? That is not a question worthy of my time Worthy of your time is this question perhaps? That is not a question worthy of my time Is THIS question good? "Good question?" he responds, "What makes a question bad?" Is this question worthy of a response? "I guess," the wiseman answers before falling into a deep sleep. After many moons he awakens and shouts, "I know who killed Kenny!!!!" Is this question worthy of an answer? Bolapara swats you away, "Insolent fly," he mutters exasperatedly, "why are you still here?" IS this a question? "Daniel Rice," whispers the wiseman as he puts his hands on your head, "I transform you into gruel." Is this a worthy question? "You are...." *snore* "getting sleepy...sleepier...sleepieer..asleep." I wonder, is this question worthy of your time? "Happy Easter!!!" cheerfully greets the wiseman, "I will take your wallet." |

Do you love me? Should I stay? Should I go? Should I go long or play it safe? Is one week too short a time to know someone before one marries him or her? What can I do with a grumpy kangaroo? What can I say when a monkey acts this way? Where should I hide my... er... "stash"? Does no one really expect the Spanish Inquisition? Should I buy more clothes? Where can I find some female individuals? How can I find out if someone really loves me? Should I invest my money in a CD? Or should I just spend it on a CD? What kind of popcorn should I use to water my plants? How should I go about becoming a world champion bocce player? Should I get tested for HIV? If someone could tell me exactly when I'm going to die, should I listen? Do these pants make my gluteus maximus look fat? What kind of an engagement ring should I buy? Are there any good French restaurants around here? How can I avoid burning to death? Is the cure just as bad as the disease? Is it worth jeopardizing well-trained and well-equipped paid volunteers to try to save defenseless innocents, if the innocents live far away from you and the volunteers nearby? What kind of a job would I be best suited for? If I want to go to the academy, how can I find a way to get other people to pay for it? Should I write a novel about an anthropomorphic dinosaur? |

Do you love me? Wiping a tear away from his eye, the wiseman sobs, "dearly." Should I stay? That is not a question worthy of my time Should I go? Once he is out of the hospital from this endeavor, he gathers up all the strength he has and mutters, "buy...cd" What kind of popcorn should I use to water my plants? Maybe next time you ask the question you shouldn't be wearing your clown pants. What kind of an engagement ring should I buy? That is not a question worthy of my time Are there any good French restaurants around here? "I believe that there are," answers bolapara, but he turns and gazes into the mirror and the wiseman says to you, "No, there are no good french restaurants inside a volcano!" This question is worthy of your time? However this question is not? If this question is worthy of your time do you think I know the rule? What about if I predict this question as not being worthy of your time? Quite a simple rule though wiseman, do you not agree? Or perhaps (more likely) I'm just making my rulebreakers too difficult :P? Less than five of the questions in this post are worthy of your time (this being one), correct? Should my guesses be correct I'll participate no further; would not want to spoil this good puzzle? Apologies for phrasing what would essentially be statements as questions :P just wanted to make sure what I had to say qualified as answerable by the rule. I'll leave these final two as statements just to satisfy myself regarding the particulars of your rule :). |

Are the best things in life free? "the best things in life are gotten by paying me," answers the wiseman wisely. "this advice is five dollars." |

Mwahaha! I think I figured out the rest of it. So it only takes someone getting the vast majority of the rulebreaker for me to figure it out :-/ Are you going to answer this question with something akin to "of course"? Is this question answerable by "why yes, you're right"? |

Are you going to answer this question with something akin to "of course"? "I could," answers bolapara, "but that wouldn't be much fun." Is this question answerable by "why yes, you're right"? "hmmmm, I guess so" Are the answers to yes/no questions yes if the question is divisible by five and no if the question does not contain a gerund? "No, macaroni cheese is involved," says the wiseman as he finishes his dinner and passes you an empty plate. "Please fill my dinner bowl with some delicious roasted quail." ***********SPOILER************ Kalira knows the answer. For me to answer your question, the first letter of your question had to be in your username. Then the number of words in my answer, was the position of that letter in your username - ie "Of course" works for Kalira's first question because A is in the second letter in her name. However, since A is in her name twice, she also needs a second answer. Until this last post, I avoided conjunctions to make this easier to realize, and I wanted an easy rule breaker as this was my first. Indeed it seems the most difficult thing about this one was that people stopped working on it the moment they saw one part of the correct answer |
