If he were good at baseball, Havana and Washington could both be very different today.

I've heard this story before, so I will stay out of it. But welcome to the forum!

I don't :-)

True story? Havana = the capital of Cuba? Washington = the US capital? The state?

Is he a former president or politician? Did he give up his baseball career and ended up doing another job? Which in turn influenced Havana's and Washington's development?

Is it a true story? If so, is he living? Does/did he work in public administration? In a private company? Is he still in charge?

Is he from the U.S.? Cuban? Other? Is it Fidel Castro?

Cold War relevant? What about the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Was Castro once a baseball player? Supposedly? Did he try to come to the US to play? And was refused?

Was Castro once a baseball player? Supposedly? Did he try to come to the US to play? And was refused? you are right (and I could have sworn I already posted this) see below for spoiler)

****** SPOILER********

There is an urban legend that Castro once tried out to be a pitcher for the Washington Senators baseball team. had this been true, and had he been good, then the Senators might have been good and not moved to Minnesota, and Castro might not have become dictator of Cuba.

Interestingly, I've just spotted this on April 8 of a page-a-day left-hander's calendar, passed off as truth.
