Problem: I have a torch that does not work when I need it the most. This is my first one. Lords of this forum have mercy on me and let me see the vertical scroll-bar on this thread. |

Um you seem to have posted this twice... hopefully the mods will sort this out? Meanwhile I will post on this one as it is the original and therefore the best :D Does your torch work when you don't need it? Would it normally be called a torch? Does it (sometimes) emit light? Can it be turned on and off? When you say 'work' does work mean that it emits light? Or that it would emit light if you turned it on? |

Is this a torch in the traditional sense of the word, i.e. a wooden stick that one lights on fire? A figurative torch, as in passing the torch or carrying a torch for someone? A blowtorch? Something that emits flames? A torch as in a flashlight? When you need it most... would that be in the dark? The cold? When the power is out? When other light sources fail? When you need to signal someone? If we're talking about a flashlight, does it have anything to do with the batteries or lightbulb failing? |

Is there something inherently about the dark that prevents the flashlight from working? Or are the times it doesn't work the same times that it's dark? Does dark= night? Power failures? Entering a dark place? Does the flashlight plug into the wall, so that when the power fails it doesn't work? Is it solar powered? |

Is it when you need new batteries and have to go into the back of a dark cupboard to find some, which is impossible without a torch? |
