Does he remember where he was when he fell asleep? Is his latest memory from before falling asleep from somewhere else? Together with other people? (friends? enemies? people he knew? or not?)

Type of injuries: scars and such? On head? torso? arms? legs?

Animals involved?

Time period? (insert list of centuries here)

Are there any particular relevant features about the place in the woods where he wakes up? Any people there besides him?

Did he fall asleep indoors? In a bed? Or outdoors? Was he in a "populated area"? A town? A village?

"Not together with other people" (where he fell asleep): as in "He was not in the company of anyone in particular, but there were other people quite nearby"? At what distance, approximately, were the closest nearby persons located from where he fell asleep: 5m? 10m? 20m? 50m? 100m? 1km? 10km?

In his current situation, is he able to stand up? and walk away? If yes, would he try to go anywhere in particular? Might he want to call for help? Or is he afraid to be discovered? Or afraid of something else? Does he have any idea of where he is more specifically (apart from "in the woods")?

Does he remember how he got injured? Was he injured by another person? or several persons? Was his injury an accident? Was he injured by something sharp? A weapon?

Are there any particular relevant features about the place in the woods where he wakes up? No. Any people there besides him? Not when he awakes, no.

Did he fall asleep indoors? In a bed? Or outdoors? Was he in a "populated area"? A town? A village? He fell asleep outdoors, the area cannot be described as any of the above.

"Not together with other people" (where he fell asleep): as in "He was not in the company of anyone in particular, but there were other people quite nearby"? At what distance, approximately, were the closest nearby persons located from where he fell asleep: 5m? 10m? 20m? 50m? 100m? 1km? 10km? He was in company with some friends, but they were several hundred meters away when he fell asleep.

In his current situation, is he able to stand up? No. and walk away? So no. If yes, would he try to go anywhere in particular? Might he want to call for help? Yes. Or is he afraid to be discovered? Or afraid of something else? He is not afraid to call for help. Does he have any idea of where he is more specifically (apart from "in the woods")? He has a general idea.

Does he remember how he got injured? He does realize it Was he injured by another person? or several persons? He wasn't injured by anybody. Was his injury an accident? Yes. Was he injured by something sharp? No. A weapon? No.

Did someone/something injure him while he was asleep? Yesish

Did he fall out of a tree (such as from a treehouse or a hunting tree stand)? So the place where he fell asleep was in a tree, but he woke up on the ground?

If not out of a tree, did he fall out of or off of something else?

He fell asleep in midair while skydiving? Exactly.

*********SPOILER*********
Tony, one of the skydivers in my club, had an accident this summer. This was before I joined the club, but he told me about what happened:
He had been working very hard lately, with long hours and little sleep, and had gone to the airfield on the weekend for some much needed recreation. Eager to get into the air, he had gotten up early, poured himself some good strong coffee and driven off to the airfield to be ready for the first lift of the day.
He didn't feel particularly tired as he climbed into our small Cessna jump plane, he felt excited to finally get to do what he so loved. It not until he was hanging under his parachute, several hundred meters above the airfield, that his long work hours caught up with him and he fell asleep.
(If any of you have done some skydiving, you may know how peaceful and relaxing it can be up there)
His friends watched in horror as he drifted away out over the forest surrounding the airfield. As an experienced skydiver he had a high performance canopy (more fun, but also more dangerous), which sent him with considerable speed into the trees as he was making no attempt to either brake or steer.
His helmet saved him from bad head injuries, but he broke a leg, injured his shoulder, and a branch hit his chin so that he bit straight through his tongue. I think he injured his back also.
The poor guy was put on strong medication during his rehabilitation, the medication meant he was barred from skydiving for the rest of the season. He still showd up at the airfield as soon as he ws well enough, and I got to know him as our jump leader for several weekends during my training as a skydiver and subsequent jumping.
He actually got the all clear from the doctors on the very last weekend our club was jumping this year, but when he arrived on sunday it was quite windy, and our first jump had resulted in everyone flying backwards (including me, I was quite proud of myself for landing perfectly in the field despite the conitions). Our tandem pilot had to land himself and his passenger in a ditch several hundred meters outside the field, and we decided to call the whole thing off.
Our hero could have jumped the day before, when the weather was perfect, had he not already planned a dinner party with his in-laws. I think the poor guy still got some jumps at the Stockholm club the weekend after (yes I'm from Sweden, hi all).
