Sarita resented having her children railroad her into a nursing home, but when they told her she was lucky to be there, she admitted (although just to herself) that they were right. How come? |

Where can I find your poems? I like opems and also write some on occasion. I promise not to peek before this puzzle is solved (: Was she lucky to be in a nursing home at all? Or specifically this nursing home? "Railroad" = "force" or does it have another/additional meaning? They=her children? All of them? Did they tell her anything besides that she was lucky to be there? Was she lucky because: they had worked hard to get her there? They had sacrificed? The alternative would be much worse? |

Was she actually lucky to be there? or did it just appear to her to be this way? Was she lucky not to be at home? at this moment? Would something bad have happened to her if she had stayed at home? Did she live at home with her children? Alone? with somebody else? Did her children have family? relevant? Did she meet a former friend/acquaintance/lover in the nursing home? Relevant that it's the mother of the children? would the puzzle also work if it was the father? an aunt? an uncle? some other relative the children used to live with? |

Did something happen at the nursing home that was in some way fortuitous for Sarita? Did she meet someone there? Did she learn something there she wouldn't have otherwise? Did she win something? Is her health relevant? |

You can find my poems on http://sataci.googlepages.com - click on "Åke Malmgren poems". Some are in English, the rest in Norwegian and Swedish. The page layout is kind of screwed up at the moment but they're still readable. You appear to have missed a couple of Sundowner's questions. Was the lucky part: that she was staying there at the moment? That she got there in the first place? That she would be staying there in the future? That she wasn't where she would've been otherwise? Important why she only admitted it to herself? Relevant why she resented it? Someone else relevant besides her and the relatives who put her there? Did they put her there for reasons besides her health? |

noob alert... did she feel lucky because otherwise (if not in the nursing home), she might have to live with/be cared for by someone undesirable or dangerous to her? if so, a relative? one of her children/her child? her husband? does she feel lucky for a different reason than her children would indicate? i.e., they think she was lucky to get a spot in the home, but she's silently lucky because she's acquired sanctuary, or some other subtle benefit? |

Is Sarita's spouse relevant, or someone else's? If the former, is he her children's father? Is he still alive? If so, does he have any say in the decision to put Sarita into a nursing home? If not, did he, his death, memory, or something else connected to him have any influence over the decision to put Sarita into a nursing home? Undesirable caretaker - a specific person? That Sarita knows? A general type of person, such as a nurse or volunteer? Is the gender of this person/people relevant? |

The other alternatives of accomodation for Sarita: in her house? with her children? with other relatives? something else? Is Sarita's physical condition relevant? does she need special care? medicine? medical supervision? a doctor or hospital nearby? Is Sarita's spouse still alive? if yes: are they divorced? separated? if no: relevant how he died? If Sarita's children have other reasons to put Sarita to a nursing home, do these reasons involve money? were the children afraid they could not do the nursing themselves? that it would be more expensive to pay a nurse who comes to Sarita's home? was the relationship between the children and Sarita somehow difficult? the relationship between the children and Sarita's spouse? do the children need the house themselves? taxes or fees relevant?
