Is there biblical significance to the phrase?
Is the term "lost" in a literal sense or figurative?

Any refernce to pop culture, tv shows or celebrities? If so who and or what show or movie?

Man = HAM A + B (Alive and breathing)?
Man = His?
All sentences related to this man?
Any other people relevant?
Misleading information relevant?
His profession relevant?
Was "the way" an actual route or path in geographical terms?
Or is it more psychological? (He solved some problem in his head?)
Was he always lost in this puzzle?
Or was there a gap between the first instance of lostness and the second?
Was he reaching a specific destination?

Was he using satellite navigation? Our sat nav names the first 10 yards of our road with the name of the road opposite, and then has us live across the road from where we do live.

Is the sense of the first Lost the same as the sense of the second Lost?
as in: he was a lost little lamb, but found God -- however, that didn't help him know how to get to 42nd and Lexington!
