Perhaps "he" bet that he could train a pig to ski. He was successful in doing so, but the pig skied into a car causing an accident? So he had to pay the damages? Exactly so, Monty. You summed it up so concisely that I do not even need to publish a *****************SPOILER*************** Willie is working in the boiler room of a mountain chalet. He is very fond of jokes, pranks and adores betting. As he is a good skier, and the work in the boiler room is not very challenging, he bets with the cook that he would be able to train a domesticated wild boar to ski. He makes special skis for him, fastens his hooves to them, and pushes him down the slope. Unfortunately, at that time, a car appears on the road crossing the slope, full of hunters returning from a celebration. The pig collides with the car, makes a hole in it, kills itself, and the passengers suffer minor injuries and a major shock. Willie takes the dead pig, prepares tasty food for his friends out of its meat to celebrate his victory - and has to pay damages for the car and the hunters' injuries. Thank you all for participating. I hope you did not find this puzzle too boaring :-)) |
