Was the relief you felt: emotional? Physical? Was it one behalf of: yourself? Him? Someone else? You: human/adult/male? He: H/A/M? Did he change his: first name? Last name? Middle name? Other name? Other kind of name? Or not the name itself but a nametag or similar? Did you want him to change his name? Did you try to make him change his name? Is your name relevant? Someone else's? More people than you and him invovled? |

Was the relief you felt: emotional? this. Physical? Was it one behalf of: yourself? this Him? Someone else? maybe a little of this, but barely. You: human/adult/male? human, age irrelevant, male. He: H/A/M? Yes to all. Did he change his: first name? Last name? this. Middle name? Other name? Other kind of name? Or not the name itself but a nametag or similar? Did you want him to change his name? Probably, but I doubt I would have given it much thought. Did you try to make him change his name? Maybe, but I doubt it. Is your name relevant? yes. Someone else's? yes. More people than you and him invovled? yes. In case you are wondering, this is very loosely based on a true story that happened with people I know, but the "I" character is not actually me. |

For simplicity's sake, i'll refer to "you" as being the "I" character in the puzzle. Did he have: the same name as you? A name that alluded to yours? Important what he changed his last name to? Or only what he changed from? Is his first name relevant? Marriage relevant? Is the reason why he changed his name important? Is there some name or combination of names that is unfortunate? Is he a relative of yours? People invovled: you, him and a third one? More people? If so: 1, 2, 5, 10, 100, more? |

For simplicity's sake, i'll refer to "you" as being the "I" character in the puzzle. Fine. Did he have: the same name as you? yope. A name that alluded to yours? Important what he changed his last name to? Or only what he changed from? The actual names are unimportant, but is important why he had the first name and where he got the idea for the second name, if that makes sense. Is his first name relevant? no. Marriage relevant? sort of. Is the reason why he changed his name important? noish. Is there some name or combination of names that is unfortunate? irrelevant. Is he a relative of yours? yes. This is the key. People invovled: you, him and a third one? this, although others are indirectly relevant. More people? If so: 1, 2, 5, 10, 100, more? |

Yope: did he have the same first name as you? Same last name before changing? Same last name after changing? Is he your: Grandfather? Father? Brother? Son? Grandson? Cousin? Uncle? Is his name before then change causing you: pain? Confusion? Annoyance? Inconvenience? |

Yope: did he have the same first name as you? Same last name before changing? Same last name after changing? this last one No to rest. Is he your: Grandfather? Father? Brother? Son? Grandson? Cousin? assume this. Others could work, but would require a slightly different situation. Uncle? Is his name before then change causing you: pain? Confusion? Annoyance? a little of this... Inconvenience? and some of this. Note, though, that it is not the name itself that is the problem. |

Is the fact that you're related relevant? And that your last names don't show this? Did he get the original last name from his: mother? Father? Somewhere else? Were you related on his mother's side? Father's side? Did he change from the last name of one parent, to the last name of the other parent? Family feuds relevant? Disagreements? |

Is the fact that you're related relevant? yes. And that your last names don't show this? It is relevant that we had different last names before, but this is not why I'm relieved. Did he get the original last name from his: mother? Father? this. Somewhere else? Were you related on his mother's side? this. Father's side? Did he change from the last name of one parent, to the last name of the other parent? YES! Almost there! Family feuds relevant? Disagreements? noish. |

Did his parents get divorced? And did he have to choose which parent to live with? And you were relieved that he chose the mother's side? |

Did anything relevant happen to the parents? To someone else in the family? Could the reason for his name change be considered silly? Was the change intended to benefit: you? Himself? Someone else? If so: a relative? Spouse? Friend? Stranger? |

Did anything relevant happen to the parents? no. To someone else in the family? Another family member is relevant, yes. Could the reason for his name change be considered silly? The reason is irrelevant. I'll tell you that nobody's really sure why the real person changed his name anyway. Was the change intended to benefit: you? Himself? Someone else? If so: a relative? Spouse? Friend? Stranger? irrelevant. |

Ah, so we don't need the reason for the change, only the reason why you felt relieved, right? Is the other family member your: Grandfather? Grandmother? Father? Mother? Sister? Brother? Son? Daughter? Grandson? Granddaughter? Cousin? Uncle? Aunt? Something else? If not yours, is it his [above LTPF list of relatives]? Does this family member have the same last name as you? Him before the change? Relevant? |

So...(1)Grandpa wanted the family name to continue. (2)For some reason, that wasn't going to happen thru you. (3)Grandpa pressured you about this issue. (4)Then the cousin changed his name to be the same as yours. (5) And now Grandpa is now happy - and so are you. Right? Does the cousin have sons to carry on the family name? |
