Was the scrund about a group of people that can be found in several religions? Did the scrund involve an attitude that some people have toward euthanasia? Was the scrund primarily about people who practice euthanasia, and how it relates to their religion? Are doctors who will perform euthanasia relevant? The people who elect to have it done to them? The families of those people? The opponents of euthanasia? Insurance? Hospitals? |

Anything to do with euthanizing pets? People who are not opponents, but who you thought were? |

HINT: Think about what is a major attraction of religion (or at least of Christianity & Islam) for many, probably most believers. |

Is it relevant what happens after one dies? Possibly the scrund had to do with the religious having a belief that fate after death by euthanasia differs from fate after death by other means? |

Did you think euthanasia would be more common in religious people because they would be less afraid of death? |

Yes ********** SPOILER ******************* As someone whose Advance Directive says, Keep me alive as long as possible but all available means & never pull the plug no matter what," I took this as an unsurprising result of my atheism--I think this life is all I'm going to get so of course I want to prolong it as long as possible. So I was surprised to read a study finding that religious people were most likely to want to be kept alive by "extreme" means. Please check out my new puzzle, which also involves a scrund. |
