My puzzles are tending toward the insufferably long, so here's a quickie. I love spotting movie mistakes. The one I'm thinking of now might be the most noticeable ever. It is obvious several times in the movie, which is a pretty popular one. It is observable on the DVD cover and posters, and requires no specialized knowledge to spot. Most viewers of the movie probably never think of it, but I know you Lateralians will be able to figure it out. |

May we try to figure out which movie? If so, may we ask for the LTPF list of titles? Genres? Year in which the film was produced? |

Jenburdoo (Jenburdoo) May we try to figure out which movie? Yes... If so, may we ask for the LTPF list of titles? But this would make it entirely too easy. Sorry. I think that learning the nature of the mistake with help lead to the movie; if not, I'll give the movie and ask for the mistake. Genres? Again, if I give the genre, it'll be among the first you guess. Year in which the film was produced? Within the past decade. |

I figured. IMDB list of possible goofs then: Anachonism? Error in geography? Continuity? Crew or equipment visible? Factual error? Revealing mistake? Incorrectly regarded as goof? Audio/visual unsynchonized? Errors made by characters? Deliberate errors by filmmakers? |

Jenburdoo (Jenburdoo) I figured. IMDB list of possible goofs then: Anachonism? Error in geography? Continuity? Crew or equipment visible? Factual error? Sort of this... Revealing mistake? ...but more like this... Incorrectly regarded as goof? Audio/visual unsynchonized? Errors made by characters? Deliberate errors by filmmakers? ...because it is in fact this. Alhucema (Alhucema) Titanic? No. |

Is it the fact that you can see the circle of light all the way around, which is clearly impossible, if it is in fact a well covering? |

It_so_happened (It_so_happened) Is it the fact that you can see the circle of light all the way around, which is clearly impossible, if it is in fact a well covering? That's the one! Sorry, even I didn't see how quickly this one would go. I guess it's pretty obvious once you guess the movie. ****************SPOILER In The Ring, what the ring itself is is the circle of light you can see if you are at the bottom of the well and the cover is closed. It looks like an eclipse, with a corona on all sides. But this is physically impossible; if the heavy stone well covering were smaller than the mouth of the well all around, it would fall in! The movie title, the iconic image and the central theme are all based around a mistake. |
