Is it relevant what the man was doing when the mission was carried out? Was the "mission group" in contact with the object when the man saw it? Were the emotions annoyance and thrill an direct effect of him seeing (and hearing) the object? Did he feel those feelings all of a sudden or did they build up over a longer period of time? |

Is it relevant what the man was doing when the mission was carried out? Yes - in a general sense. Was the "mission group" in contact with the object when the man saw it? Yes. Were the emotions annoyance and thrill an direct effect of him seeing (and hearing) the object? The object, and something more. Did he feel those feelings all of a sudden or did they build up over a longer period of time? They were relatively sudden. |

Had the man on the ground just skydived? Or planning to? No to both at the moment. From the same aircraft his friends are in? But he has skydived from this plane in the past, and will again in the future. Are his friends operating the aircraft? or are they just passengers? The pilot is one of his friends, the skydivers in the plane are the rest. Did the aircraft fly very low? Yes, we were flying at the lowest legal altitude (300 meters in the relevant area). |

Were his friends on their way to go skydiving? Were they teasing him because he couldn't come along? Yes, yes! I'm guessing it's relevant WHAT they shouted to him? Was it the words more than the sight of plane/his friends that made him feel what he felt? No to the rest. But this warrants a ****SPOILER**** My skydiving buddy Tony, who have figured in another puzzle of mine some time ago, lives not far from the drop zone. This particular day the weather was almost perfect - blue skies, warm air and a light breeze. Unfortunately for our friend, he was having dinner with his mother-in-law that day, and couldn't come skydiving. We all know how it feels to not be able to jump, and decided to add insult to injury for our poor buddy. I don't know who first came up with the idea, but we all instantly agreed that it was too great to pass up. Me and six other skydivers, the maximum for our plane, paid double the jump price and clambered into our yellow Cessna. One sat in the front and gave the pilot directions to Tony's farm, about 8 km away, and we rose to 300 meters (minimum altitude above populated areas) and went on our way. Tony was sitting at his porch when he heard the plane approach. We started circling the farm and waving and shouting to him. "Yoo hoo! Tonyyy!" After doing a couple of laps around the farm, we went back to the drop zone and jumped as normal. When we came down, the jump leader had received a phone call from Tony, expressing great annoyance that he couldn't come jump, but also how awesome it was that we honored him like that. He had been very close to ditching his family and coming out to the drop zone at that moment! |
