They evacuated in a hurry, but could return after a couple of hours. Nothing was harmed, though something was missing. |

Possible solution mailed. You got it. =) I suppose it's really easy if you've heard about it. If you think it's more accurate, I'll change the original post to "No property was harmed", which was what I intended to write to begin with. Though, actually I had another missing thing in mind, but yours were even better. |

Was the missing thing also the thing that caused the threat? Did they evacuate because something bad would definitely happen? Because there was a chance it would happen? |

So some animals posed danger? And some of them died? Was there additional danger from something else than animals? Were the animals running? From a fire? Migrating? Did they invade buildings? Were they: from a zoo? Local wildlife? Did this happen in [LTPF list of continents]? [LTPF list of centuries]? Is it a true story? |

* * * SPOILER * * * Army ants doesn't build nests, but "march" across the land in more or less straight lines. They attack and eat everything that happens to get in their way. When a horde of army ants apporaches an African village, they have to evacuate. After the army of ants has passed through, everything edible left behind will be gone, but so will the pests. So the invasion of ants isn't all bad for the natives. |
