-Some do, some don't. -I have a hunch she suspected it was coming, but didn't know when. The two statements above are related, and in a very lateral way. Knowing the way you all think, this may very well be a quickie. |

In the first clue, we have: Some do [action], others do [action]? Can we call these actions X and Y? Are X and Y the same action? If yes: Do most people do X? Do people who do X do X regularly (e.g. once a day)? Do people like doing X? She=HAF? It= thing? animal? human? |

Do most people on LTPF do X? Do you have to be on LTPF to do X? Do you have to be the creator of a thread to do X? Do you have to reply to a thread to do X? |

Is the item physical? Artificial? Any of the following relevant about "she": - Her nationality/ethnicity? - Location? - Profession? - Age? - Married status? - Family? - Friends? Is "it" an action? An object? Is the LTPF involved at all? If not, something tangentially related like: A group of friends? An online forum? An organization devoted to solving problems (like police)? |

Is an actual lateral puzzle involved? If so, is "she" (Let's call her Alice) the puzzlemaster? A solver? Does her profession give her the idea for the puzzle? Help her solve it? By "friends," do you mean fellow members of the forum? Do some of the objects (I'm gonna call it a McGuffin) have a relevant physical property that other don't? Can they carry out a certain action that others can't? Is a McGuffin a computer? |

Does her profession give her the idea for the puzzle? No Help her solve it? Yope, for the same reason. By "friends," do you mean fellow members of the forum? Yes! Do some of the objects (I'm gonna call it a McGuffin) have a relevant physical property that other don't? No Can they carry out a certain action that others can't? Yes Is a McGuffin a computer? Is she a friend or relative of a solver, perhaps looking over a shoulder? Is the something some computers can do related to hardware? Software? Internet browser? Settings of the browser? Is the LPTF itself (as opposed to its members) relevant? |

Is she a friend or relative of a solver, perhaps looking over a shoulder? No. And a BLOOPER: "Occupation relevant" should be Yes, with svv of "occupation". Is the something some computers can do related to hardware? Software? Internet browser? Settings of the browser? Yope to this one, No to the rest Is the LPTF itself (as opposed to its members) relevant? In Part 1, the LTPF is relevant, with a "noish" to members. In Part 2, the LTPF and its members are. |

Is she someone who is asking questions on a puzzle? ...Right now, I have to say No to Yope. But who doesn't actually solve it? Ditto. And I suppose I should clarify a possible BLOOPER: There are actually two relevant puzzles. However, the "puzzle" part of Puzzle 2 is irrelevant. I've been answering all the puzzle-related questions as referring to Puzzle 1. |

To clarify: Could part 1 be rewritten as "some computers do, so computers don't"? Is there a specific puzzle related to part 1? If so, is it a current puzzle? A puzzle in limbo? A recently solved puzzle? A puzzle in the archives? |

RECAP: "Some do, some don't." Some computers allow a certain function, and others do not. "I have a hunch she suspected it was coming, but didn't know when." "I" is me, and "she" is Gourami. Two puzzles are relevant, and the second one is a solved puzzle from the archives. TWO HINTS: -Puzzle 1 is an active puzzle. -The solved puzzle is from 2009. |

Well, now that I've had a lovely trip through the archives, I think the only two computer-related Gourami puzzles in the past year are the one with the wireless mouse, and the one where Windows Vista is screwing up her LTPF usage. Is it one of those? |
