Yes, I've decided to put up one of these rulebreakers. In my mind, this is a six-step rule from question to answer, but I'm sure you're up to the challenge. So values can be repeated... how many different values are there? (insert LTPF list of positive integers). Lets pretend I asked 2 questions which yielded the same numerical value after adding up the individual letters... would the 7th letter of your answer necessarily be the same? Or is there another step that depends on another quality of the question? If you add the values of a question, do you then add the digits in the sum together reducing to a single digit? | ||

Maybe if it was only 3 steps I would have solved it by now... working on it! Ok. Step 1: Assign values to all letters in the question. There are 7 values possible for letters. Are these values 1-7? Something else? I have no idea how you've decided on these values. I'm baffled. I've guessed every factor I can think of... Step 2: Add up all the values from step 1 Step 3: Perform mathematical function on sum from step 2, but only in certain situations. What situations? I don't know! So lets see...does it have to do with how many digits are in the sum? If it's more than one digit? More than 2? Etc.? Does it depend on whether it's odd or even? Maybe if it's more than 26? What gets subtracted...the same number in all situations? I imagine you have to get the number down to 26 or less? If the sum is 524 does it become 24? If its 568 does it become 8? Anything like this hacking off hundreds and tens places until a number under 27 is reached? Am I way off base here? Step 4: Using a=1, b=2, c=3, change numbers back into letters Step 5: I haven't the foggiest idea. Does this step determine the letter you put in the 7th position of your answer? Is this a different letter from the one arrived at in step 4? Different by moving a certain number of letters away in the alphabet? Step 6: Write an answer with a certain letter in the 7th position. In this case 2.1.1.1 1.1.3.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 3.1.2 4.1.1 Step 2: Add values: =29 Step 3: Subtract something from 29 to make it less than 26...since in order to end up with C on the next step the reslut needs to be 3, I think you subtract 26 enough times to get the answer to be 26 or less. In this case 29-26 = 3. If the sum was 87, you'd 87-26=61, 61-26=35, 35-26=9. So 9 would be the result of this step.
