Was Cynthera doing good for other HAFs? Were they also pregnant? Were they overweight? By doing good was she trying to protect others from something? from hurting their feelings? | ||

Interestingly enough, I read the puzzle title on the main page several times without realizing, until just now, the "prengant" typo. If she's not doing good for other pregnant women, for children? Does Cynthera have other children? Was she trying to get pregnant? Has she been pregnant before? (I'm thinking of an Angelina Jolie type situation, where she's in the process of adopting when she learns she's pregnant) Is she "showing" at the time when she's pretending not to be pregnant? Does her husband know? If so, does he approve of the deception? | ||

Is there a relevant charity? Is maternity clothing relevant e.g. did she buy clothes in a charity shop that she knew would not fit her as she felt unable to say no. | ||

Is she pretending to overweight, instead of pregnant? So that if/when people ask her how far long the baby is, she acts upset that they would "mistake" her being overweight as her being pregnant? Thus doing her bit to try and get people to stop asking such questions of random people who may or may not actually be pregnant? | ||

So when the genuinely pregnant Cynthera was asked this, she said, "I'm not pregnant," in the hope of discouraging this bad practice. By the way, I find this problem surprising. Fat women rarely look pregnant, as they're apt to be fat all over, rather than just having fat stomachs. When I was fat, no one ever asked me when I was due. This [puzzle illustrates what a bad judge I am of puzzle difficulty--I thought it would be hard. I think my new one will be too--check it out at the bottom of the page.
