It looked like they wanted me to lose the game, which I had already done many times. But then I noticed they really wanted to sell me clothing! Note: This has nothing to do with that "The Game" some of you keep talking about losing on here. |

Hang on...would this be more accurately described as a computer game? If so, I've had an FA for the past few posts. It's an online flash game. So not on a CD or for a game console. Was any part of the content of the game related to the ad? Hmm, technically yes, but don't want to mislead. There WAS more of a connection between the game and the ad than them being on the same web page, though. |

Hats? Shirts? Coats? Belts? Suits? Ties? Pants? Designer clothing? Socks? Underwear? I actually had to look up what it is, and in fact it is something different in American and British English. Since I live in the US I'll assume that's the use in the ad, which is none of the above (in fact, neither meaning is). But shirt and coat are the closest of the above. |

Is the genre of the game important? Or just that it involved a lot of jumping? Did it involve jumping at the spot where you kept losing? Did you, in fact, lose the game? And because there was a lot of jumping in the game, that would make a player make the connection (Jumping -> Jumpers) and want to buy clothing |

Is the genre of the game important? No Or just that it involved a lot of jumping? Yope Did it involve jumping at the spot where you kept losing? It involved jumping throughout, so yes. And "lose" could be interpreted either as losing lives or the whole game--either would work. Did you, in fact, lose the game? Yes, many times And because there was a lot of jumping in the game, that would make a player make the connection (Jumping -> Jumpers) and want to buy clothing There was a much more direct connection between the game and the ad |

Adjectives? This, as used in the title Like "high jumper"? And in order to save you trying to find the game or randomly guess, I'll say the title of the game was "City Jumper". I found the game without even using Google (yes, really - I was looking for a good platformer, went to AddictingGames, then when I hit retry, it took me to the site with the ad) and quelle domage - the ad was there, so I must now remove myself from the puzzle. Excellent puzzle, Biograd! |

It's surprisingly tricky for such a simple-minded game, huh? |

Yep - third try, died on Level 20, so made the leaderboard (but not top 100). |

Is the word preceding City the name of the subject of the ad (when put together with City)? I can't think of any place that would sell jumpers (mainly because I'm not sure what they are other than that they're clothing) but something like Circuit City Jumpers? (Although of course Circuit City is the computers not clothes) |

Is the word preceding City the name of the subject of the ad (when put together with City)? The word preceding "City" is the other half of the brand name, like in your "Circuit City" example, but I had never heard of this brand, so you almost definitely won't get it. A better approach would probably be to try to think of synonyms-ish of "lose", particularly considering the type of game. |

Lose: forget? Mislay? Throw away? Theft relevant? Death? Destruction? Lose/loose? Second place relevant? Fourth? Last? |

"Death" is the only one of your guesses that's close, and in fact it's quite close. Remember that it makes sense when it precedes the phrase "City jumper" |

Expire? Rot? Decay? Is it a verb in its original meaning? Or did you just misunderstand it as a verb? Is "<word> City" a real city? Is <word> generally perceived as negative? |

Expire? Rot? Decay? No to all Is it a verb in its original meaning? You mean in the ad? There I would interpret it as an adjective describing "city", but it's simply a brand name so it really doesn't mean anything. Or did you just misunderstand it as a verb? Is "<word> City" a real city?<b>No/b> I'm almost Is <word> generally perceived as negative? As in, is the action implied by the verb considered undesirable? In the majority of cases very much so--especially when applied to humans. But not in the grammatical sense of the negation of something. Hint: It seemed to be a command addressed to the player of the game, not to the jumping guy the player is controlling. |

Crush? Splat? Break? Finish? Exterminate? No, but the last one is pretty much an exact synonym for the word, which is much simpler. It almost seems you don't want to get it, you guys are dancing around it so much... |

Dalek? No. It's a simple verb that means essentially the same as "exterminate". Terminate? Delete? No to both. Remember, "death" and "die" were very close--except the former was the wrong part of speech, and the latter was from the perspective of the jumping man, when I told you it sounded like a command to the player. So if the jumping man dies, what did the player do to him?? |

Kill? YES, finally! Next to the game City Jumper http://www.nationlocation.com/cityJumper.htm there was an ad with the title "Kill City jumper". I must have killed my jumper guy 10 times already by the time I saw it, as it's actually really hard to get some of the jumps right, so the "command" seemed superfluous. But it was really an ad for jumpers sold by jeans manufacturer Kill City http://killcity.net/ *********************SPOILER********************* |

I think you meant the radio tower. The only lighthouses are on the islands, which as a whole are supposed to represent the island of Alcatraz. |
