Is it a shout of surprise? Frustration? Anger? Joy? Sadness? Are you trying to get someone's attention? Did a large insect suddenly appear? |

Did you use an expletive? Were you alone when you yelled at the phone? Did anyone hear you? Did you answer the phone? Did anyone? Was the phone supposed to be on silent? Or did you know someone was calling again? Someone whom you did not want to talk to? Or deal with? |

Were you able to answer? Were you allowed to? Technically yes to both, it's just not the habit to answer on someone else's phone Did the fact that no one was answering mean that no one was working? Was working hard? Was doing their job? None of these, much simpler. Actually I think I will recap, as I fear the progresses made till now are not very clear: I'm sitting in my office, then a phone (not mine) rings, and rings, and rings, and then I yell at it, because I'm annoyed by the situation. You should get it quickier now |

Was the person supposed to be answering the phone? No. Why? But wasn't? Were you simply annoyed that the owner of the phone wasn't answering it, even though it was ringing, and ringing, and ringing, AND RINGING, AND (I'll stop now) ? Kinda. I was annoyed because of the phone ringing, but not against the phone owner... |

Did you yell at the person ringing? ("Okay, that's enough, can't you see nobody is answering?!") Very much so! Time for ******************** SPOILER ****************** I share my office with 4 other guys, which are often away from their workplaces, so it happens now and then that they receive calls while they are away. Since our ringtones are particularly loud and annoying, and above all since callers are able to let the phone ring 10-12 times before understanding that nobody's there (and they should know that if someone is at his workplace, he answers in few seconds), I often shout out "HE'S NOT HERE!!!", annoyed by the number of rings... Silly situation, I know, but still I hope you enjoyed the puzzle! Thanks everybody for playing, and special mentions to Balin for the 90% of the ground work :-) and to Rbruma for the final solving! |

Good one! It would be nice if the callers could hear you shouting, and would hang up. Maybe someday they'll invent something that lets you do that. Again, nice puzzle! |
