Sometimes a quick look in the mirror, is not such a bad idea! I assume this will be a quickie, with all the brilliant minds in this forum. |

A quick look in the mirror...a specific sort of mirror? "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" Full-length looking-glass? Hand mirror? Compact mirror? Bathroom mirror? Why isn't it a bad idea? To make sure one is clean and tidy? To make sure the mirror is clean? For some other reason? |

Kayleetonkslupin (Kayleetonkslupin) A quick look in the mirror...a specific sort of mirror? Nope "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" Not relevant, I’m afraid Full-length looking-glass? Hand mirror? Compact mirror? Bathroom mirror? Any of these would have done it, as long as the upper part of the body was visible. Why isn't it a bad idea? To make sure one is clean and tidy? Not this To make sure the mirror is clean? Nope For some other reason? Yes Rbruma (Rbruma) A car's rear-mirror? No Kayleetonkslupin (Kayleetonkslupin) failing that, the side-view mirrors on a car? (how on earth did I leave car mirrors out? Good one, Rbruma!) No car mirrors relevant Lordofthegeeks1000 (Lordofthegeeks1000) Is stupidity relevant, in that someone didn't have a quick look in the mirror? Correct And there was something they could have fixed? Yes, and ought to have to avoid what happened later. Woodworm (Woodworm) Anything to do with your work in IT support? Nope, this is from a news article I read a while ago in one of the Dublin free-sheets. Random guess: someone called up an IT support desk via live webcam, and they forgot to put any clothes on? No, but that would have made a brilliant puzzle, lol! |

Was he drinking at home? In a bar? He was at home when the the word (it was only one word) was written on to his forehead Relevant who saw the writing? Very much so His wife? Girlfriend? Other significant other? None of these. I'll do a quick recap/hint before bed. Our "hero" goes drinking with some mates one evening and they end up back in his house. After a while he falls asleep. While he's asleep the others think it will be a funny prank to write something on his forehead. When he wakes up, all the others have left, and because he doesn't look in the mirror, he doesn't realize that there is a word written on his forehead when he leaves his house. Someone relevant sees that word and that has serious consequenses for him. So find out what he does after leaving the house and who sees the writing. |

"Oh yeah, 5 foot 7, 170 pounds, and had a big word written on his forehead." Spot on!! And now for the ********* SPOILER********************* A Dubliner, David Levins (the article also mentions drug addiction), went partying with some friends one evening. Afterwards they went back to his place and at some stage he fell in to an alchohol induced sleep. Before the others left, they wrote MUG across his forehead. As he woke up, penniless after the heaving drinking the night before, he decided to rob a chipper. He managed to get some money off them, but didn't get far. The police arrested him in the nearby area, since the shop assistant was able to give a pretty good description, including the writing on his forehead. |
