That's right folks, yet another neologistic puzzle... Have fun!

It takes a lot of skill to pinicla, but thankfully it is only required in a very specific situation. I have heard tales of people (entire groups, even) who attempt to develop the ability to pinicla, but I have never actually seen it done.

Does pinicia-ing involve collecting something? Does it involve antiques? Performing a task? That is considered impossible? Or nearly so? Like discerning colors by touch?

You may want to narrow the profession/hobby that people might pinicla in. That should head you in a good direction.

Speaking of forgetting lines, I'd forgotten all about this puzzle - sorry. That's all right; I was going to post something in the chatroom, but I forgot :-) Plus, you pretty much just finished it up...

Ad-libbing relevant? Ad-libbing a forgotten line in the correct meter? TA-DA!

********SPOILER********

Pinicla is a backwards near-acronym for "to ad-lib convincingly in iambic pentameter." I have been around theatre people all my life, and I was an English major in undergrad, so I am slightly familiar with the plays of this one little-known playwright from the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras who tended to write in iambic pentameter. I have heard tales of those who develop an ability to ad-lib in the correct meter when they blank on their lines, including members of the Royal Shakespeare Company, but I've never seen it done. (Then again, I may have seen it done and simply not realized it, were it done convincingly enough.) It would definitely take a lot of skill to do it convincingly, since it would require an actor to, within a very short amount of time, realize they have forgotten a line, get over whatever sense of panic they feel, and think of a line that rhymes (if necessary) and keeps the rhythm. This seems like a massive undertaking for my poor little brain to wrap itself around, so I bow to whosoever has developed the talent.

And I also tip my hat -- proverbially, anyway, since it's difficult to do so literally with the watch cap I'm currently wearing ;-) -- to Balin for solving most of this, and to Kaylee and Noel for contributing some major breakthroughs!

Awesome puzzle, and certainly a great addition to the LTPF Neologistic-tionary!

And a BLOOPER on my part that is not exactly "forgetting," but embarrassing nonetheless...I misspelled the word throughout the whole puzzle (as "pinicia" rather than "pinicla").

But this was sure a puzzle quite well done,
I cannot wait to see your next new one!

I'm not too worried about it Balin :-) I saw, and wondered how long it would be before you realized it, but it didn't offend me or anything. I just chalk it up to the difficulties of reading bolded and italicized sans serif fonts, and the persistence of first impressions (ooh, that made it sound cool, didn't it?).

Well, I don't really think it takes much skill,
If my mind tells me right. But then again,
It took a bit of time to write this, so
Piniclaing this is not. I'm humbled.
