I had a scrund about the LTPF for a little while, which was both originated and cured by trips through the archives. What was the scrund?

Side note: LatVenture trilogy Part II to come shortly.

You did? Hmm, I wonder what it could be and if I had, or have, it too...

Has it got to do with particular puzzles?

Certain LTPF members? Kinds of puzzles? Gender of members relevant?

Did you think that a certian type of puzzle can be found only on this forum? Or even that a certain member had developed said puzzle type? And it turned out that it actually originated from a book or some other source?

Is it relevant that the older puzzles in the archive have several pages and you thought puzzles lasted longer in those times?

Is the relevant ish member a new member ? (notwithstanding that we all have new member status)

Nimue's role as a setter not a solver relevant?

Likely other members have held this scrund? still hold it?

Are puzzle types relevant? rulebreakers (Which i never participate in you might have noticed)?

Is it relevant that the older puzzles in the archive have several pages and you thought puzzles lasted longer in those times? No, although I did think that in some cases. Although the specific puzzles you're looking for are from the "archival" era.

Is the relevant ish member a new member ? (notwithstanding that we all have new member status) Yes

Nimue's role as a setter not a solver relevant? No

Likely other members have held this scrund? still hold it? Probably not

Are puzzle types relevant? One type -slight"ish" rulebreakers (Which i never participate in you might have noticed)? Not these

Specific lateral adventures?

Specific as in "done by a specific LTPF member"? A specific type of lateral adventure?

Lateral adventures with the idea "you wake up in a place and don't know where you are"? (like mine have been. I think these happen most, don't they?)

Lateral adventures where you "get a letter and go somewhere"? (ie Gregory Weick adventures. Hmm, I should try one like this.)

Specific lateral adventures? Yes - two, to be exact.

Specific as in "done by a specific LTPF member"? A specific type of lateral adventure? Well, both were done by the same person, and are of the same type.

Lateral adventures with the idea "you wake up in a place and don't know where you are"? (like mine have been. I think these happen most, don't they?) Not really

Lateral adventures where you "get a letter and go somewhere"? (ie Gregory Weick adventures. Hmm, I should try one like this.) Yope to this

Does your scrund concern the content of the puzzles? The way that the puzzle statements are phrased? The method by which the host conducts the puzzle?

It's not one of mine, is it?
There used to be a puzzler on here who posted lateral adventures before I did, I just don't recall who that was (but I guess I could start by searching the archives).

Was the scrund that LTPF puzzles could only be phrased as either sentences or situations, and not lateral adventures?
Was the scrund about the character's actions? The way he interacted with participants? The fact that despite what he did or tried to do he could never die in the adventure?

Did you think it was short for Travis? but it isn't? Right on both counts!

**********SPOILER**********

When I first read Ixoye's two "Trav" lateral adventures (somewhere in the 2005 archives), I assumed the name was short for Travis; however, it's actually short for Traveller.

Excellent work, everyone, especially Ixoye for a lot of the groundwork, Noel for the assist, and Biograd for the takedown.

Ah nice work, Biograd, you beat me to it!

Glad I could inspire a puzzle (those Trav adventures were a lot of fun to create and host, by the way).
