They're allowed to do that? Someone's got to stop it, otherwise where will they go? |

Are "they 2" involved in "that"? They 2 are not causing "that", but "that" affects them very much They #1 - animals? No. Animals and plants are vaguely part of They 2, although humans are the most relevant part of They 2 for purposes of this puzzle. |

They #1 - living things? NO...very good question. Is a disease relevant? Or sickness? Er...as They1 aren't alive, no, strictly speaking. I suppose one could analogue the that/it to a "disease" if one were to consider They1 analogous to a "living thing", though...They1 are being "killed" by the "that/it", inasmuch as a group of nonliving things can be "killed". |

Where will they go...the coastlines? Coastal cities? States? Countries? Nobody knows, yet...that's the question even I can't answer. The questions you must answer are "who are "they2", and (since the ocean isn't a "they") "what is they1"? |

Are "they 2" people? They are a specific people Are "they 1" the tides? The temperature? The weather? The ice caps? The melting ones? They 1 are affected by the tides, certainly, but they are not the tides themselves. They are something else. |

Is the country an island? More than one. Is it a US territory? Er...I don't think so, no. It's an independent nation. Has it ever been a US territory? Let's see...Spanish, German, Japanese...I don't think they've ever been US territories, though the US does have a presence there for the country's defense. |

So we need to stop the rising tides to keep the Marshall Islands from becoming submerged and making it (obviously) uninhabitable for the residents of the island - this it? What's left to find out? |

So we need to stop the rising tides to keep the Marshall Islands from becoming submerged and making it (obviously) uninhabitable for the residents of the island - this it? What's left to find out? Well, that'd be the best case scenario, for it to be stopped if it can be done. Otherwise, the Marshall Islands will disappear, and the Marshallese will have an unknown status. So what's the most difficult problem about the Marshall Islanders' (or as they seem to prefer, Marshallese) country disappearing in this way? |

Their economy relevant? A bitWould they have anywhere else to go? Apparently not!!!!!!! Immigration relevant? Oh yes. ***SPOILER*** (It's in the link. But basically, the Marshallese will have absolutely no legal status when the Islands disappear...nowhere to go. It's never happened before, according to the article. Oh, countries have vanished all the time...politically, as empires break up, territories become states or gain independence, etc. But never physically. So what will be done? Who knows...) |
