It can be said that there are 2 types of people in this world: Remmites and Stubbites. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. Some people could be both - or neither...but let's not needlessly complicate things. I grew up thinking that I was a Stubbite even though my parents were not necessarily Stubbites. Things have changed over the course of the last 20 years. People who know me well would quickly answer, "Oh, without a doubt, KayGee is a Remmite!" What is Remmite and Stubbite? |

Judging by the wording, the distinction is not one of gender, then...*ponders* Has it got anything to do with social class? rich vs. poor? Different religious beliefs? |

Kaylee Has it got anything to do with social class? rich vs. poor? Different religious beliefs? No to all. Fandres17 Is it related with intelligence? personality? belongings?No-ish race? origin? abilities? No to everything else. (But I was really tempted to say 'yes' to intelligence - but I won't start any online fighting this close to Christmas! ;-) |

Does it have to do with what people look like? No. But I am smiling at your question - there is a well-known joke about Stubbites. With their families? With their education? No to the rest. |

Is it about "dog persons" and "cat persons"? Yes, very good! A nice quick puzzle! SPOILER: There are two types of people in the world - dog people and cat people. When I was growing up, my family only had dogs. My first dog was named Stubby - hence the name Stubbites. All I knew about cats were from visiting a couple of my friend's houses. My parents had cats before I was born, and after I left home - but I was never impressed with the value of the pet cat. Then one bitter cold winter night, I took pity on a mother cat with two babies that were trying to find shelter on my apartment balcony. I let them sleep in the attached laundry room on an old towel; bought them catfood; went out to check on them and pet them. Mother Cat must of thought that I was doing a good job taking care of the kittens 'cause one day, she didn't come back - we never saw her again. We brought the kittens in to our apartment and they quickly claimed my heart. One of those little cats lived for 16 years. We had several cats during his lifetime and 2 more since he passed...but he will always be my favorite. His name was Remington - hence the name: Remmites. Now, somehow, I have become the cat expert at work and routinely give advice to my co-workers when they have questions about their cats. Also, many of the little "chotchkies" that have been given to me as gifts are cat-related! So I guess that officially makes me a "Cat Person"! Merry Christmas to all on the LTFP. And congrats to Doriana for the solve! |

Two very intelligent Remmites, indeed! Oh...and the title was chosen for two reasons: One, the song God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen was on the radio earlier that day (nice song - don't hear very often anymore) and two, our pets certainly bring great comfort and joy to our lives. |

I'm a rabbit person, more than cat or dog, though I do like cats or dogs so long as they're *quiet*. My rabbit, a brown Flemish Giant named Minty (long name, Mint Chocolate) was a show rabbit and he sired a litter of kits on my Angora, Snowball, but after that his preferred mate was one of their daughters from that litter. But it's been a long time since I had a rabbit. Now all my animal companions are just stuffed toys. Penguins, mostly. |
