Inspired by Mr. Coke's puzzle about the student: No. Why would I be teaching here then? |

A school...preschool? elementary school? middle/junior high school? high school? college? This university? vocational school? A religious school? military school? It does have a religious affiliation, but aside from it being a college, that school is rather irrelevant. There IS another college that is very relevant to the puzzle, however, and I'll say it is also religiously affiliated, though that fact again is not particularly important. |

Is the question related to the school? From now on, be specific about which school you mean--the mostly irrelevant "here" or the very relevant other school. Anyway the answers are No and Yope, respectively. Is the question directed at the teacher? This only At someone else? At more than one person? Again, I'm answering for the second question, the one that could be directly answered with the puzzle statement. |

The features of the "previous" school are important by itself? Or only in comparison with the "here" school? Does the student's question concern: teacher's religious beliefs? teacher's political views? teacher's working preferencies? Does the student know the "previous" school? |

Did the student, for whatever reason, think that the teacher was rich? Or so highly educated that he could work anywhere? Or that it would be more convienient for him to work at the previous college? Do his family, friends or other close persons live closer to the "other" college than to the "here" one? Is the teacher's reputation in the "previous" college relevant? Is his relationship to his former colleagues? His chances of getting a salary increase? Does he get along better with the students in the "here" college? Are any of the working conditions in the "here" college better than in the "previous" one? Had the teacher himself been a student at the "here" college? At the "previous" college? Is there some sort of rivalry between both colleges? |

Which question? The first question, which may or may not been asked by the same student, was about his work history. The second question, that would have prompted the puzzle statement, is also about his professional life. Does the student know the "previous" school?Obviously she hadn't heard of it (hint!) |

Is it a SUNY school? A community college (which in most cases, would technically make it a SUNY school I believe). Is it a CUNY school? Another school in NYC? Would it happen to be in Pougheekspeie? ****************RECAP************************* 1. A college professor (who happens to be an uncle of mine, by the way) got asked a question by one of his students. 2. He gave a reply that involved another college he had previously worked at, which is Christian and located in New York just outside of NYC. 3. A student, quite possibly the same one, immediately asked a second question showing (among other things) that she obviously had not heard of that college. 4. This could have prompted the puzzle statement as a response. |
