Several times a week while driving, I turn on my right turn signal for five to ten seconds, but do not turn my vehicle. What's going on?

Would this work with your left turn signal? Your hazard lights?

Do you intend to make a turn? Are you trying to signal somebody?

So I assume by not turning, you mean you don't change lanes either?

Are you turning it on by accident? Force of habit?

Are you doing this intentionally?

Are you testing to see that it is working?

Are you actively making something occur (perhaps doing that would save gas or something) or is it something of a precautionary motive (maybe blinking turning on your signal prevents the light from burning out)?

Do you intend to make a turn? No to all. Are you trying to signal somebody? Yes.

So I assume by not turning, you mean you don't change lanes either? No.

Are you turning it on by accident? No. Force of habit? No.

Are you doing this intentionally? Yes.

Are you testing to see that it is working? No.

Are you actively making something occur (perhaps doing that would save gas or something) or is it something of a precautionary motive (maybe blinking turning on your signal prevents the light from burning out)? I guess it would be considered precautionary.

Ok, so you're changing the lane to an adjacent one, correct?
Do you do this in the place where the new lane begins? (I mean the situation where a two-lane street starts being three-lane street, and the new lane is on the right).

So...several times a week, you put on your right turn signal and then change lanes. But why you change lanes doesn't matter. What's left? Putting on a turn signal to change lanes isn't unusual, normally. Are we trying to figure out something specific and unusual about your lane changing?

No need to discuss any of these, Noel and Shez are right.

SPOILER

The road leading to my workplace curves to the left. I enter it from the left lane and leave it from the right, but because it curves I can just stay straight during the curve and cross over the line between the lanes without turning my wheel. Since I am, however, crossing lanes, I put on my turn signal.

I'm still confused as to how you manage that. Wouldn't the right lane curve too, causing you to crash off the road and fall to impending doom? And I also was always taught never to change lanes on a curve.

Oh, I wasn't taught that. The right lane does curve, and I quickly start curving too. Only during the lane-change do I drive straight.
