Why would I suddenly start singing the visiting team's fight song at a UConn basketball game? Not a true story, but probably would have been if they'd played the visiting team's fight song at the game in question |

Are they orange? If by "are they orange" do you mean "is the visiting team's school color orange?" then yes. But if you mean "Is their nickname the Orange" which in other words would be "are they Syracuse?" then no. |

The first one. I have no idea about teams' nicknames, be they Syracuse or otherwise, but I'm sure more knowledgeable people will thank you for the clarification =D Thanx, mr. coke :-D Of course, I could have meant are they colored orange, which would have just been strange =D But I did not mean that, either. =P |

Syracuse used to be the Orangemen and had a mascot who was an orange man but then changed their name because it was (allegedly) offensive to Native Americans. And then they had a gladiator in Orange armor as a mascot, but now they just have Otto the Orange, who is in fact an orange. Like the fruit. Oh, and if anyone wants to see the UConn Basketball schedule to try and figure out which game this was, go to http://www.uconnhuskies.com and find the schedules from there. |

I personally like chocolate oranges better than regular oranges, but I have a feeling this may be irrelevant. =D |

Was it the team that's relevant? Or the song? Was the team from your hometown? Did you want to sing it to support them? Or for a different reason? Did you know someone on the team? |

I think they changed their name because it was Protestant Irish and male, thus cutting out a lot of their supporters... Are you at the game? Sitting in the stands? The opposing stands? Is something relevant occurring during the game? Does it matter which visiting team? If so, LTPF list of possible visiting teams, please. Is something about the song relevant (its lyrics, tune, etc)? |

Are any of the following lyrics relevant? If so, which: Wish that I was on ole rocky top, Down in the tennessee hills. Ain't no smoggy smoke on rocky top, Ain't no telephone bills. Once there was a girl on rocky top, Half bear the other half cat. Wild as a mink, sweet as soda pop, I still dream about that. Rocky top, you'll always be Home sweet home to me. Good ole rocky top, Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee. Once two strangers climbed on rocky top, Lookin' for a moonshine still. Strangers ain't come back from rocky top, Guess they never will. Corn won't grow at all on rocky top, Dirt's too rocky by far. That's why all the folks on rocky top Get their corn from a jar. Rocky top, you'll always be Home sweet home to me. Good ole rocky top, Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee. Now I've had years of cramped up city life, Trapped like a duck in a pen. Now all I know is it's a pity life Can't be simple again. Rocky top, you'll always be Home sweet home to me. Good ole rocky top, Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee. ? |

Does it matter who you were with at the game? Perhaps your girlfriend is from Tennessee? (thinking of the cat/bear stanza) Or were they lyrics you sung directly relevant to you. Perhaps the stanza about cramped up city life? |

Oh, I see, you were commenting on "Ain't no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top..." But, to clarify what I said earlier, the only relevant line is "Ain't no telephone bills" although if proceeded by "on Rocky Top" it certainly would have the same effect. The smoggy smoke part is completely irrelevant though. |

Bruce Pearl? His suspension relevant? BINGO!!!!!! Close enough for a *****SPOILER****** Well, Bruce Pearl got suspended for the first 9 games of the conference season this year (which didn't include the UConn game because it wasn't a conference game) because of calls and text messages sent to recruits in violation of NCAA Policy. Hence, the line "Ain't no telephone bills" would be highly appropriate for mocking Pearl for this violation. Good job everyone, especially Balin for ending it |

Really? Well...I have ANOTHER alternate solution on this one: In the 1990's, Tennessee athletes charged $26,000 in long distance telephone calls to a stolen university phone card. There were a couple of players suspended over it. (Guess I should have asked questions here after all!) |
