Why do I sometimes start singing along with the visiting team's school song at an OU football game? My apologies to Greg- I stole this statement from his puzzle - but I couldn't resist sharing a totally different thought. |

Is orange at all relevant? Or just to tie it back to Greg's puzzle? Opposing team - in the same conference as OU? A rival? Do they play every year? Or close to it? |

If orange is relevant, is it the University of Texas? Oklahoma State? |

Balin Is orange at all relevant? yes but perhaps that would be insulting to the color Orange! Or just to tie it back to Greg's puzzle? Opposing team - in the same conference as OU? A rival? Do they play every year? Or close to it? See below. Noel: If orange is relevant, is it the University of Texas? this one - we are cooking now. Oklahoma State? |

Do you sing the entire song? A certain line? Or lyric? Any of the following lyrics relevant: The eyes of Texas are upon you, All the live long day. The eyes of Texas are upon you, You cannot get away. Do not think you can escape them, At night, or early in the morn'. The eyes of Texas are upon you, Till Gabriel blows his horn! ? |

What other verses are there? Or do you sing a different lyric from the real one? Is it a wordplay on the real one? is the real lyric The eyes of Texas are upon you, All the live long day. The eyes of Texas are upon you, You cannot get away. Do not think you can escape them, At night, or early in the morn'. The eyes of Texas are upon you, Till Gabriel blows his horn! And don't worry about stealing the puzzle statement. Just try to solve mine. Would this work at a OU-Texas basketball game? Wait a minute... OU-Texas football is always played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas during the Texas State Fair, which is a neutral site. So Texas wouldn't really be the "road" team. Is this relevant? |

Or do you sing a different lyric from the real one? yes Is it a wordplay on the real one? no is the real lyric The eyes of Texas are upon you, All the live long day. The eyes of Texas are upon you, You cannot get away. Do not think you can escape them, At night, or early in the morn'. The eyes of Texas are upon you, Till Gabriel blows his horn! there goes that twitch again... And don't worry about stealing the puzzle statement. Just try to solve mine. Actually I know the answer to yours - just didn't remember it being at Tennessee. Would this work at a OU-Texas basketball game? sure! Wait a minute... OU-Texas football is always played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas during the Texas State Fair, which is a neutral site. So Texas wouldn't really be the "road" team. Is this relevant? nope. |

lol, not a fan of burnt orange, eh? I think Tennessee's orange is a lot worse, though, especially when they stand in their glowing orange and white checkerboard endzone in their glowing orange and bright white jerseys. It makes my eyes hurt, especially on sunny days. Bleck, who thought that was a good idea? Ok, end rant. Also, and those are the real lyrics??? I've never heard them before. They're pretty creepy, aren't they?! Is your twitch related to the whole song, or specifically to the "Till Gabriel blows his horn!" line? If the latter, is it a play on the fact that Texas is the longhorns? Is Bevo relevant? |

Also, and those are the real lyrics??? I've never heard them before. I am trusting Balin's post - never heard them before either. They're pretty creepy, aren't they?! yep...hence the sudden twitch. Is your twitch related to the whole song, or specifically to the "Till Gabriel blows his horn!" line? The whole song. If the latter, is it a play on the fact that Texas is the longhorns? Is Bevo relevant? So, no...but I pretty sure that the devil has shorthorns ;-D |

Kaylee: Is Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical "Oklahoma!" relevant in any way, shape or form? always relevant - but not here. See below... Gregory: I've Been Working On the Railroad? That's it! Good job! Or is that too obvious? certainly obvious to everyone EXCEPT the Texas fans that are insulted by it. SPOILER: Someone, somewhere chose to set the Univ. of Texas' school song to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad". Which is apparently funny only to people who do not like UT. We have great fun singing it at the top of our lungs just to irritate them.
